I am quite sure that Dan and I are on the same political spectrum (yes, people from Rockford are not all uneducated hicks). Dan's major problem is his absolutism, he would have been better off suggesting that some attacks against Sherman are racially motivated and isn't that sad it is still occurring today blah blah blah.

Anyways, I will never forget being asked repeatedly by an old woman from popular grove why a family member of mine supported the "thug president and his gang." Of course "thug" isn't the way to describe Sherman. Maybe "asshole", "narcissist", "awesome", "WWE wannabe" etc etc

What are these "groves" of which you speak? Is that like the Rockford version of a neighborhood?

Rockford is surrounded by rural communities that want to return to the 1950s. They feel they are under cultural attack from Rockford and migrant immigrants picking crops for 5 bucks
an hour.

I actually moved and do not miss that stuff.

I would submit that even saying "NFL football player" denotes an African American. Aside from kickers and QB's, the vast majority of NFL players are black. If you look at defenses, it has to be 90% black. My point- any time you criticize an NFL player (same applies to NBA), you are inherently taking a shot that many will construe as racist.

Yeah. But Dan told Hub he's entitled to his opinion when he clearly said yesterday that saying "thug" meant you were a racist. So why is Hub entitled to be a racist according to Dan? Just cuz he has a sponsored segment on his show? Where the twitter people and callers don't.

I heard part of the exchange yesterday and did wish Dan would have been a little more confrontational with Hub but I understood why he wasn't. I don't know enough about Sherman but from what I do know "thug" wouldn't be a great word to describe him.

That was my point. Sherman is not a thug. I just wanted Bernstein to tear into Hub like he did an hour before when he called anonymous people racist for saying it. Why is Hub any different in Bernstein's mind? I know why. Cuz Hub is a person that Dan knows. Tail between the legs when this happens to Bernstein. No longer the tough guy.
