This new thread was a request by RPB. I was just gonna use an older thread. But I always like to satisfy requests.

Hey, what was that tension about with Mac and Drinky right before tranny? Drinky was crying that Mac told him to wrap it up in an earlier update and he felt rushed in the tranny update cuz Mac hit the music on him while he was still reading. As he was crying all Mac was saying was "Yeah, yeah, yeah". Drinky then said that Mac and Spiegel bash B&B during their show then they pretend to be their friends during tranny. No response from Mac or Spiegs. They ignore drinky and go on to talk to B&B. Then drinky said "bye guys". Mac was like "Yeah, bye."

So what happened in earlier updates. Anybody know?

Alright. Didn't sound playful banter to me, though.

I think drinky needs to learn that his stupidity is only tolerated by B&B, though. Mac and Spiegel don't find him cute or funny. And they're really not into long updates cuz drinky has something dumb to say. They're not like B&B where they like to fuck around with the anchor and make an update last 7 minutes. I've sensed this long before today's episode.

It was playful banter. In an earlier update, they were chatting about something that interrupted the update extending it beyond it's set time I suppose. Mac jokingly told him, "Alright wrap it up". Definitely didn't think it was a big deal, all in fun...nothing to see here.

They have other transitions on B&B's podcast. Not today's for some reason. Was gonna listen to it again and maybe reconsider.

I felt drinky was crying cuz he felt slighted and demeaned. Which is the way he should be handled when he acts like an idiot, by the way. I felt that Mac was annoyed with him.

Not saying it will last. They could very well go back to pretending to be friends until the next little episode. Drinky and Spiegel pretend that they are cool after their well documented war.

But, I will move on as you guys have suggested. Hub being a racist is the bigger story this week anyway.

I think Mac's and Spiegel's display of disdain for drinky might be good for him. He's been living in the B&B world for a long time where his stupidity and badness is encouraged and celebrated by his bosses. So he actually thinks he's good and/or funny.

I think it literally shocks drinky when Spiegel and Mac don't do Terry's "Baaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaa, Matty" when he says stupid shit. He so used to getting that encouragement and approval from old man Terry (His radio Dad). When he does it for Mac and Spiegel, it's met with silence.

If he ever leaves that safe nest of B&B to go to some other media venture, it's good for him to know that others don't suffer fools the way B&B suffer him. At some point he might have to kill the weird/frat boy/jack ass thing that he does. So it's good that he learns it from Mac and Spiegel for his own sake.

Drinky shouldn't be upset. He's a talentless, middle age dope. The wost part is that he is proud to be the shill and dope on the station. He sucks.

I know. I honestly think if he would have shown some sign of maturity, maybe Mitch and Zim would thinks more of him.

Take when Ranger does updates. Drinky loves to pick on him the most. There was one time when Drinky was making fart noises by blowing on his wrist during a Ranger update. Then the other day, drinky thought it would be funny to call the update studio right when Ranger went on the air. And then drinky flashed a headline of "Boner dies in Canada" to make Ranger crack up.

What? This shit isn't done to amuse anybody but drinky. It's not creative. It's just dumb ass drinky amusing himself when he's not answering the phone. I'm embarrassed for him for Christ's sake. Just over the fact that he's too dumb to know what an ass he makes of himself. Trust me, Mac and Spiegel are embarrassed for him too. That's why they react the way they do to him.

You're fuckin' 40 years old drinky. This shit really needs to stop. Chirst, it should have stopped at 30. I'll go Bernstien now: How does this shit help you be a full time on air talent?

I know nothing is said to him. B&B are money makers. They're cool with Drinky. Bernstein actually enjoys watching drinky make an ass of himself. Drinky doesn't realize this. So Mitch doesn't care because drinky is their boy. I get that.

I'm convinced that if drinky is Bernstein's producer at 50, he'll still be making fart noises when Ranger is doing updates.

Drinky has to be a suckup to Bernsy, because he has absolutely no future. He's a low paid lifer with NO future
anywhere.

I'm all for fart noises when Ranger is doing updates.

You would think drinky would look at Zack, Ranger or Randazzo. Yes, three boring guys. Yes, company men shills for the teams they cover. But they just do the updates as pros. They don't run around the studio snapping towels or drawing attention to themselves by being clowns.

Even more so with Connor. 15 years younger than drinky I think. Wins a contest. He's an update guy, talk show host and reporter. Something that drinky would want. Why did Connor get this role? Cuz he can speak well, has some maturity and doesn't go out of his way to be a jack ass. Not saying he's great. Not saying Zack, Randazzo or Ranger are great. They're not. Just looking at it from Score management's perspective. Just don't be a dumb ass and you can get some where. Drinky has had chances and simply can't resist being a dumb ass.

Mitch and Zim tolerate the money-making Bernstein as a talk show host. Drinky can't be Bernstein. Doesn't have the intelligence or skill. So you have to fall in line as the Zack, Ranger and Conner types if you want to be something more than a producer at the Score.

Drinky's approach the last few years is mystifying. The Stain isn't going to help him advance his career. And Boers is a babbling brook just cashing paychecks. If Matt wanted to move on up to a higher pay grade you'd think he might put some effort into his performances. Or maybe have some interesting or amusing thoughts. He's really regressed. Like Charlie in Flowers for Algernon type regression.

Yeah. I'd think with a wife and kid he'd actually try to be more mature and get better at this radio thing to advance and make more money. While he was always bad, he wasn't this bad when he first started. He's gotten really weird. Almost like he goes out of his way to be a jack ass. Maybe out of protest to his bosses for still being a producer? Knowing that he's still safe as a producer under B&B. You get that sense. It's the wrong approach. It's actually alarming.

This is award-winning concern trolling right here. Sometimes I wish the rest of the world knew about Beardown.

Wait a minute, drinky.

So the tough guy jumps on B&B to complain about an intern that is friendly, says hi to everybody and likes to engage in a little small talk.

Drinky said it went like this today.

Intern: Hey Abbatacola?

Drinky: Uhhh...yeah (In a disgusted tone)

Intern: It was cool that we had Eaton in studio today, don't you think?

Drinky: Shut up, dude.

Hey drinky, now you know how Mac and Spiegel feel about you. You're the dumb ass that likes to say "Hi" to them every day and try to engage them in stupid talk. Far more stupid then some kid just saying it was cool to have a Sox player in the studio.

So leave the kid alone, jerk. Cuz you are that person too.

There is also a difference. You're interrupting an actual show, annoying Mac, Spiegel and the listeners and wrecking Mac's show clock. Kid is just coming up to you in the office trying to be friendly.

Don't worry. If the kid is around Bernstein enough, Bernstein will turn him into the scum bag that you want him to be. Just like Berntein turned you and Goff.

But let the kid have his wide-eyed, sports radio innocence for a little bit. Once Bernstein takes it, he'll never get it back. Got it?

Drinky: Fuck you.

Beardown: Exactly what I'm saying.

It's really funny considering Drinky has a picture on his desk of him sitting on Mike Quade's lap.

Drinky: Talk to me when you have one of these, Kid.

Intern:

Beardown: You're stealing my bits! :x

Beardown: Hey, kid?

Intern: Yeah, Beardown.

Beardown: Don't let drinky bring you down. Everybody at the Score thinks he's an idiot anyway. I'm sure you figured that out as well. And yes, it was cool that Eaton was live in studio. Sure in was quite the thrill for you.

Intern: Golly gee, was it ever!!!! And how!!!!!

Beardown: (Finishes his bottle of coke) Hey kid!!!! (Tosses him his CSFMB jersey)

Intern: Thanks, Beardown!!!! (Spits his toungue out at drinky)

Beardown: Atta boy, kido!!!! Atta boy.

Drinky:

ITA. Of course, the same thing can be said of most of the Score's on-air "talent."

Here's the ironly of drinky being a straight out dick to the intern

What have we heard since B&B rescued drinky from Mike Murphy? Countless stories from drinky about how Mike Murphy was mean to him. How he treated him like shit. And drinky has been crying about this for as long as he's been with B&B.

Now we have drinky doing what Murph did to him to an intern.

I think this goes a little deeper. Drinky get shit on by Spiegel and Mac all the time. Treated as insignificant and with no respect by them. Even Bernstein treats him like the dumb ass that he is and talks down to him.

Drinky is low on the Score's totem pole and really has nobody over whom he has power. He needs somebody to kick and piss on. All he has is the interns cuz everybody else at the Score is above him. So that's what he does. Terrorizes the poor interns.

Wasn't there a Mac anniversary thing a few years back where Drinky read a small essay to Boers that Mac had written about their old HFC partnership? I remember it moved Uncle Teary to tears. Bernstein even stepped away from the mic when Matt read it. I think Mac used to be in Drinky's camp. Matty better tread lightly or else he's going to alienate more people than Bernstein and he won't have the fuck you money or talent to survive being an asshole.

It was the 15th anniversary show. Mac had to send it in because he was at 1000. I think Dan had one of those leave-at-5:30 deals that day, so Matt was the one to read it. I dunno, memory is hazy; that was when I started listening to the Score regularly.

Hey Beardown,
I guess every host enjoys shitting on a producer. I was flipping around the dial last week on cable and found the Dan Patrick Show. You would have loved it. Dan and his co-hosts are talking about different things and cracking jokes. Suddenly,Dan's producer cuts in with what he thought was a funny comment.
Patrick & everybody in the studio just stare at the guy for what seemed like a good minute. About 10 minutes later, the same thing happened....great stuff!

I've caught some of the DP show on TV. That really is just playful banter with those guys. And drinky is the update guy for Mac, not his producer, that's why him being the annoying dope bothers Mac and Spiegel so much. They expect him to actually be a pro. And they really don't want to do "Stupid Talk" with him, but he can't take that hint from them.

Zizou is right, drinky is out over his skis. It's not like he's made it and can afford to burn bridges or make enemies. He's way to damn cocky for somebody in his low position. He just can't afford to be the angry, bitch jack ass that he has become. The older he gets, the more pathetic he looks.

Boers and Bernstein have made it. Bernstein pretty much runs to Score. Everybody at the Score answers to Bernstein. Even Mitch. That's why B&B can afford to burn bridges and make enemies.

That's a sad commentary on who rules the roost. Bernstein gets paid for being an unlikable prick. The underlings see it and figure "Let me try that."
