What's you opinion of nuclear power?

I'm routinely baffled by climate change arguments and maybe it's because I'm approaching the argument in its broadest possible terms. That is to say when a person denies climate change I tend to think their position is that man has no effect on the environment. Maybe that's the wrong view but when someone isn't even willing to consider the possibility I tend to paint with broad strokes. But for Christ's sake we literally set a river on fire and that was 40 years ago. Isn't it possible that all the shit we pump into the atmosphere is going to have some kind of lasting effect on the planet?

I liken it to you rooting for that skinny, pale guy over there to have an official doctor's diagnosis that says he 100% has A.I.D.S.. . . just because that's what you and the buddies that you drink expensive lattes with and talk about the world's problems think he has.

It makes no sense to have a rooting interest in something like that being true - it is actually obscene.

If it means cutting down on the number of AIDS victims I don't have a problem with banning unprotected sex in adult theaters.

Well, this is a pretty tame change. A better example may be how we seem to be on a path to discovering that there may have been life on Mars at some point, which pretty much guarantees that we are not only not alone but it's almost certain that some alien life knows about us and is so advanced that we don't matter to them like you passing an ant hill.
