No one from the projects of Oakland is buying Marshawn Lynch jerseys!!!

What the hell does that mean?

Its absolutely wrong but what the hell was the attempted point?

At the end of the Hub segment, a brother called in to take exception with something Hub said about Lynch that was critical and that the caller was pretty sure people in the projects support the NFL by going to games / buying merchandise , etc. Hub said he was joking ( I didn't hear the exact comment Hub said he was joking about) and thats when Lil Danny hung up on the caller and told him to lighten up. After they came back from break, thats when Lil Danny dropped the Im sure no one from the projects of Oakland are going to Seahawks games or the Super Bowl ( ostensibly to support Lynch) and that they dont buy real NFL jerseys because hey they are too concerned about putting food on the table and where their next dollar is coming from rather than dropping $150 on a Marshawn Lynch jersey. Only people with disposable incomes do that!!

And again, you could easily make a case that the popularity of jersey's came from the hood and Oakland specifically

I wonder why he didn't tweet that to Deion or Marshawn? Isn't that kind of the thing with Twitter? Anyone with a Twitter account care to retweet it at them?

At about 4:00 they took a call from a guy who sounded like he was black and loaded for bear and they handled him with kid gloves.

Heard that. They tiptoed all around his talk about where he came from.

They have a long history of treating callers differently based on their race.

yup, a funny sounding black guy yelling and screaming on WYC = terry and dan giggling... anyone else and its a shotgun and groans

So, in Dan Bernstein's world, you can't say the word "thug" or "articulate" in any reference to a black person without it being a code word for racists. Any other words that can no longer be said without being called a racist? He's offended by David Haugh's recent column on the NCAA, but believes that organization is a cartel that should be destroyed. You're a bigot if you don't support his social positions on gay marriage, racist if you're anti-immigration reform the way some Democrats have suggested, believes that in Florida it's ok to shoot a black person for no reason (his recent comments on Zimmerman), makes a habit of personally attacking Christianity. If you live outside of the city of Chicago, you're stupid (no mention of how the smart people have bankrupted the city).

I'm sure I missed some, but this is all in the last couple days/weeks.

Added - you're a racist if you don't want to change the name Redskins even if only 10% of Native Americans are offended by it.

Chief Wahoo is obviously racist, they don't play obviously offensive comments saying 'gay' anymore as the show has become smarter.

Well, that is true. Redskins is racist.

True, but Chief Illiniwek is not. He's a goddamn American hero. And my blood boils every time I see that war-whooping "Seminole" riding around a stadium on horseback. Also, I don't think the St. John's Redmen had anything to do with Indians. They just wore red. Political correctness run amok.

Not when they had white kids doing the dance. They should have brought in actual Indian dancers. I can see the Indian Tribes point though. Respect their heritage. It's not for halftime shows.

By the logic of Bernstein, if one person is offended by something, it must change. That's a pretty interesting point of view. That was his argument to the poll numbers supporting keeping the name Redskins.

Bill O'Reilly on how to respond to being called a racist: Never talk to that person again, some people are just not worth your time. It's a dignity question.

I can figure out who is more obsessed with discussing race issues. I tend to believe both are full of shit.

No, everyone should be offended by Redskins. It is probably the most "acceptable" racist term in our society.

Are you arguing it isn't racist BD? If so, can you give the long explanation on what the term Redskins means?

I got an email from a guy yesterday saying ALL names are prejudice in some way and we'll have to change ALL of them.

People really love this Redskins name

He talks about race more than Jesse Jackson. He's obsessed with it. Dude has an agenda and it isn't liberty and justice for all. I'll concede he's probably the least racist person on Fox News though, so he has that going for him.

Do you watch a lot of The Factor?

He doesn't talk about race that much at all. Im not sure where you're getting that from. He rips Obama but that's not racism. He would rip whatever Democrat was in office.

Im not sure what qualifies as racism these days. Apparently any white person that even hints at problems with any other culture is wildly racist

O'Reilly is not racist. One thing I will say though is that he is not afraid to tackle issues that involve race which may give some the wrong impression.

When there are legitimade instances of racism he never speaks out. That is the problem that I have with O'reilly and the people at Fox. Most people in this country will agree that racism still exists. The people at Fox will admit it that it exists but when there are legitimade cases of racism they won't speak out. They will cry foul when people accuse them of being racists yet they never address racism once it occurs. I don't know if that makes them racist but it is a little suspicious. Conversely they never fail to criticize an African American leader if they believe that he is playing the "race card".

Ill agree with that. Suspicious is about as far as you can go with O Reilly though.

Just saying "there are problems in the black community" isnt racist.

I agree with that. There are a lot of people that have antennaes up whenever an individual makes a point of fact about another race. O'Reilly does make good points on some issues related to race. When he talks about the breakdown in the black family and its overall effect on the black community that is a legitimade point. I just think there is far too much silence on other issues where race is a factor.

And O Reilly is just saying whatever he thinks will get ratings. I dont believe anything on his show is what he truly believes.

Do you have any examples? Or are you just doing the Fox news = racist thing?
