Didn't want to do it without Nolan.

There was also a rumor that Nolan dropped off as EP from Superman vs Batman right around when Affleck was announced, but I haven't seen anything official.

Real genius is to have West play a retired Batman/Bruce Wayne and Affleck to play Dick Grayson. West though is pushing his 80's I think so that wouldn't work. Maybe Affleck could play Bruce Wayne the 3rd. West could be the original Bruce Wayne. They could do a whole shpiel on why the new Batman even exists.

They did this already. It is called Batman:Beyond

It worked really well as a trilogy, not much benefit in him (or Nolan) doing another one and shoehorning Superman in it. That's just a recipe for shit sandwich for them.

At what point do these super hero movies officially jump the shark?

I have said before that Marvels "Guardians of the Galaxy" which includes a talking raccoon and a talking tree-man will be a disaster. It will cause everybody to be more particular with all this costumed hero stuff.

Of course,I could be wrong and it becomes another Marvel hit but I don't think so this time. The next Thor movie looks boring, too.

I think Thor looks awesome. Loki is worth the price of admission.

I'm skeptical about GotG. The early video of the raccoon is better than I expected, but we'll see.

@ worst, G of the G will be a cult classic. I know that's not what Marvel/Disney/Satan has in mind spending all that bread on the film, but @ least it wouldn't be a failure.

Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor?

Yes. Jeremy Irons to play Alfred in Batman vs. Superman.

They should have just cast the Luthor from Smallville. I thought he made that show.

Elliot is one of my all-time favorite funny guys. The stuff on Letterman is priceless.
