I really dislike them but it sounds like I may be going to one this year. At least it is catered.

I'll dvr the game and watch it again I guess.

I am going to a family birthday party. I kind of like that I get it out of the way while watching the game. The problem is that I know my sister is going to cheap out on the food or get whatever is easiest rather than get some premium wings or subs.

Game kicks off around 5:45? I really wish they would have it on a Saturday after having two weeks off.
I would think the day after the Super Bowl has to be a pretty unproductive work day for most. I'll be
watching at home with my dog and female friend.

Sounds like me except I have 2 dogs and a wife. I have had friends over before. It's more of a nuisance than anything else.

I'm a bigfan of Super Bowl parties. If the Packers aren't involved the game really isn't as fun as the party anyways. Though when Packers went to Super Bowl my senior year we had a decent 20 person party with Packers fans from Calgary, NYC, STL, Chicago and one Sconnie. An awesome shit show of a celebratory boozing.

I kind of enjoyed them, until the first time I realized just how much enjoyable it was when I could just stay home, eat & drink exactly what I want and keep complete control of the remote control. Or not have to hear the inane conversations about halftime or commercials.

And then to not have to worry about the drive home is restful. So, I'll likely never willingly go to one again.

Super Bowl parties are okay. The Super Bowl is probably the most overrated sporting event of the year, so getting to socialize takes you away from the bullshit surrounding the game.

I really don't have a problem hanging out with friends while drinking, eating and watching sports. Why wouldn't that be a good time? Thats essentially what a Super Bowl party is.

Unless the Bears are playing I don't need to hear the game. I couldn't care less about the halftime show most of the time, and even if I did I can watch the entire thing online the following day along with all of the commercials.

Few years ago, when the Bears where in THE BIG GAME, we hit clark street. Snuck into some bars as everyone wanted tickets for "the Big Game', then at kickoff, we went to my place...to see the greatest start to a Super Bowl ever....as i then lay on my couch,,,,I knew, it was all downhill after that

The only problem with having parties that involve more than 3 other people (and women) is that you watch like 15% of the total broadcast.
Between the drinking and tending to whatever you need to, the time flies, you are drunk, and you get to watch the last 5 minutes of the game...as long as you don't have to replace the toilet paper, grab a towel for an errant beer launching, clean up the broken crock pot of boiling cheese sauce, etc...

I throw a super bowl party every year, but it is slightly different.
My friends and their families come to my house around 5ish, kick off is after 6 and the party ends at halftime (mainly because that's close to 8:00 here and all my friends have small kids, time for them to go to bed). Then all the people who want to watch the end of the game stay. First half is social and loud while the second half is all the football fans who are interested in the game. It works out pretty well.

Having a top man cave set up helps. Which means you need a basement and a family room. Family room can be the planned out location of the game, thus family kids, dips and chips can be located there ....at game time, those who want to watch head downstairs to watch and those who want to discuss the commercials and daycare can stay upstairs.

It does really bug me when someone (usually a female( Shooohse me during a commercial! DURING A COMMERCIAL! As if these commercial are a thing of art....Most of them kinda suck!

If that wasn't an episode of Frasier, it should've been.

I've had some and been to some. Can be tough to get a seat and when women are involved they rarely are watching
the game and chatting amongst themselves.

I like super bowl parties. I usually ask the milfs that have husbands way too into the game for laundry room blow jobs. 8)

Who won the Red Wings/Capitals game yesterday?
