How is Warner even in this conversation? He only has 5 seasons where he was even in the discussion for being elite on the year.

Rodgers, Brees, Manning, and Brady are all clearly better just going off guys still playing. You probably add another 5-10 retired quarterbacks.

Warner was great, for a few years and with two teams.

So if Bears had Cutler in 06 do they beat Indy?

No reason to think he wouldn't have been just as bad as Rex in that game but they got Caller Bob punched on D with Indy's running game all night. Thats why they lost.

They lost because for some strange reason Lovie decided to abandon the running game and have Rex toss the ball all over the field in a torrential downpour.
They would have lost with Jay too. Is he even better than Rex?

That's because Benson fumble the ball and basically quit in the first quarter.

I predict: Russell Wilson will fall hard next year and will begin his descent from Super Bowl winner to free agent rather quickly.

Because some guys are trying to eliminate Manning from top 5 consideration.

He doesn't seem like that guy to me. I expect him to play better because of the confidence he got from this game.

top 10, OK, not top 5.

he isnt top 5 because I am not taking out one of the real top 5 just to say Manning is a Top 5

Elway
Brady
Bradshaw
Montana
Warner

These guys got it done during the season and when it counted on multiple occassions.

Going to take out Warner? the guy with the 3 biggest passing games in Super Bowl history and 2 rings and a guy who made it happen from nowhere so the prince of football who got his ass handed to him?

If you think Bradshaw and Warner are better than Peyton Manning, you are a fucking idiot. And I know you're not a fucking idiot biggie. I like you. But c'mon. This was the single dumbest post I have ever read on this board. I know all of this is opinion and shit but at some point your opinion is just flat out wrong.

I watched the game with a Denver Broncos fan. Pretty obnoxious. I was rooting for the Seahawks because of him. I was reveling in the schadenfreude.

I didn't really bet it, but there was a prop bet for first group thanked (God, family, 12th man, etc.)

I think that prop bet is for the MVP only. Usually the MVP is also the first person they talk to, but they talked to Wilson first then the MVP. Didn't catch who Smith thanked first. Gonna be some confused/pissed off investors if Wilson thanked the 12th man first and Smith thanked someone else first. edit: Smith thanked no one? Ha.

It's not his fault he played a soft schedule. They played them in the preseason but beyond that there was NOTHING that could prepare them for what they were going to face. Seattle had already faced better defenses in the Division and Championship game. They were more prepared to face the Broncos.

Bradshaw, Warner and Peyton are all lesser leaders/QBs than Staubach and Starr, and in the Super Bowl, you can add in Jim Plunkett.

IMO the NFC Championship game was the SB. The Broncos couldn't beat either defense IMO.

I was out so just jumping in. What was with Denver's game plan anyway? Sure Seattle defense was awesome but Denver was too short and screen passy.

It's like they didn't even watch the Saints game film. Saints kept trying screen passes for no gain.

I was rooting for Manning & the Broncos, but I am a big fan of both Pete Carrol & Russel Wilson. He's a great kid who is mature beyond his years. That Seahawks Defense is fun as hell to watch & it's nice to see a couple of teams still playing good tough D. Winning like they did in this day & age is impressive.

Isn't the NFL changing up the playoffs soon, expanding? NFL/NBA/NHL should go to unified playoff qualifying. Take the best teams regardless of conference and seed them accordingly.

Carroll (former, somewhat disgraced USC coach), Malcolm Smith (USC alum) appearing on SNL soon? Will Ferrell's USC alumni. Maybe he'll do something with them, tho he was just on SNL, I think. Haven't watched it all season. Fred Armisen was on Brooklyn Nine Nine for a minute tonight, doing a quasi-Borat bit with Andy Samberg.
