my neighbor fought and was shot in ww2 and was a line worker at gm for 40 years. he could barely speak english, did not do it well, and spoke most of the time in Slavic throughout his life. how dare he.

people like he are why the whole butthurtedness of that commercial is preposterous. i know more awful Americans that speak English fluently than those who can't or don't.

My immediate thought when I watched it was them attempting (poorly) to recreate the magic of the "Buy the World a Coke" commercial and failing IMO.

Hearing that some military personnel were taking offense of singing patriotic songs in the language of the culture that they are risking their lives to protect us from, I get it. But, it wasn't my first thought.

Dan was denying the existence of any current culture because we are all from somewhere else at some point in our genealogy. He thought it was still 1682 and we were separate settlements of ethnic origin.
