Yeah...I would advise against ever getting into a single engine Cessna with 'a buddy.'

If we had six guys, I bet it wouldn't be that much to take a King Air from Palwaukee and have the guy fly us back after the game. I would totally do that.

It seems like a fun adventure. Maybe we could get eight guys in the King and keep the price down. It's been awhile since I've flown private from Palwaukee. I think I paid about $1200 to go to Indianapolis and back once. Fuel was cheaper then though. But for a few hundred a guy to fly to Nashville and see the 2020 World Series champs? I'm in!

If The Baez, Bryant, Almora, Soler, Edwards train is all down there and some things start brewing, keep that in your back pocket. You got a guy?????:? $1500 you think?

I think it will be a little more than $1500. It's all the fuel costs. I do have a guy. I'll check what the price would be.

Hey Hey!

That 10 days went by fast.

Gotta admit though seeing Tank Ricketts speak at the opening of the new spring training complex was nauseating. Him and his "one step closer to a World Series championship" BS.

I wish he would sell or just shut the fuck up.

through coincidence only my family will be in Gatlinburg for a week in the middle of April, which is a short drive from the Smokies ballpark, and it appears they will be on a homestand. Until i saw this thread i had never even considered it as part of our plans. My son will be pretty excited, he has been following some of these guys pretty closely and will be pretty fired up to see a game or two.

i have driven through tennessee several times and had to visit Chattanooga on business several other times and I really have enjoyed it. the downtown district of Chattanooga is pretty nice, lots of nice restaurants and places to walk, and the Chattanooga Lookouts park is right down there as well if you enjoy minor league baseball. Some areas of that city are pretty depressed, but overall I think it is a great little city.

Love pitchers and catchers reporting. Signal to the end of winter, the start of golf season soon, and baseball is obviously right around the corner.

This is admittedly a dumb article....new manager needs players to play better....DUH. But the headline just cracked me up. Only the Cubs could have a first year manager who's job is already in jeopardy. Go Cubs Go!

Bad article is right.

I would say Castro and Rizzo improvements could be attributed as proof of partial success for Renteria. Maybe Lake...but Lake still has room to develop regardless of the manager. As the article said...if he can turn raw talent into consistent, dependable ability...he would be good to have coming off the bench and maybe starting once or twice a week. But he isn't a game changer.

Middle relief and Castillo? No.

Middle relief's improvements were made by Theo. They can't be as bad as last year.

And Castillo is what he is. A light hitting catcher with a good arm. I thought at one time he would hit more, but it looks as if he won't.

edit:

Added thoughts. The only thing I need to see from a first year manager is an idea of how to manage a national league ballgame, and to make it seem like you hold player's accountable. It is permissible to sit a player if he isn't bringing 100% effort based on his ability.

I understand that the Cubs bullpen is probably going to be bad, but I would be just thrilled with a manager that has some idea of how to manage a pitching staff.

I know the Cubs want to suck but they really could use at least 4 major league capable catchers in camp. two on the Cubs & 2 at Iowa wouldn't hurt.
