Not so Beardown.

What I'm saying is that they look with disdain towards many, and not at all toward others.

the Seacrest self loathing is strong today

The truth is that Ignatius is a place that imbues service to others into its students. Each lawyer or doctor it produces can be matched by a social worker or teacher. As I've written before, the school had and has incredibly popular public service programs ranging from days to the entire year. So as Seacrest "spent his summer" in the Abla Homes, he was only acting as an aide to the Ignatius student who had spent the entire year helping.

If Fenwick had only had such programs in Austin he wouldn't have had to travel so far to impact his community.

Ignatius grads are a special sort of low self esteem, arrogance.

I can picture the 40 year old rejection letter crumpled up and covered in Seacrest tears sitting in the top drawer of your desk used as a perpetual reminder to work harder.

Your imagining things. Again.

Picture Seacrest spending his high school summers across the street from Ignatius watching terrified wealthy white kids walking out of summer school trying to pretend the world across the street didn't exist.

You are extrapolating the success you see from its graduates to the beginning point of those students.

I'm not oblivious to the fact that Ignatius, like many other CCL schools, take in students from lower socio economic surroundings, as well as students of color, to enhance their athletic programs. Fenwick has, and continues to do the same thing unfortunately. All under the guise of "helping" the less fortunate while using the extracurricular and sporting success of their students to enhance their enrollment and school stature.

And I have first hand knowledge of the upgrades to the facilities at Ignatius a generation ago. I also know that they were not as bad off as you make it sound.

And if the success of our graduates is measured using names like Quinn, Hynes, Cullerton and Madigan, then I think success needs a new definition.

Your high school produced lawyers, doctors, social workers, and teachers? Wow. I thought you had to go to college and beyond to be those. I thought my high school had a lot of AP classes. It certainly didn't have enough to get a medical degree though.

It's an amazing insight into people who claim to be "helping others" are really pimping kids for their own means. It was painful to watch it.

The upgrades were made in the mid 90s or later. When I was there I wouldn't use the bathrooms. Ancient windows were broken and the school was freezing due to dilapidated system. It was a dive, but a great dive. It is different now.

However you would like to define success, I could find you a graduate that fits your words.

It's not an argument. It's a statement of fact that applies at Ignatius and elsewhere.

There is a level of arrogance that says I need to help my brother and sister because, where would they be without me. As you somehow are endowed with gifts through your education that others couldn't possibly have. It shows a real lack of understanding and appreciation for what others are endowed with by their Creator. It has permeated thru the politics of this state for the last 70 years.

It's an arrogance that has brought the city and state to the level of financial ruin and bankruptcy in the very near future. An arrogance that rose from the halls of places like Ignatius, De La Salle and Fenwick. Not that we are equal, but that we were somehow better because of where we went to school.

Those may not be easy words to swallow, but to deny them is to engage in some sort of fantasy I'm not able to take part in anymore. The truth sets you free.

I'm puzzled why they would make an exception to allow in bad athletes (or at the very least athletes who have no impact on success) in sports nobody cares about.

Your arguments are become unsound and strangely off point.

My high school completely sucked ass. Had I gone to Ignatius I would have at least had a fucking clue what direction was up when I got to college.

How long has he been out?

Few years. Bought the legendary Willie's Weenie Wagon on 159th and Pulaski. Now it's Johnny's and he's slowly transitioning it into a pizza place.

He did 15 years. That must have sucked. But still, 15 years in jail and the rest of his life he's all set.
Im sure he had money from before.

Amusingly, his comment was on a story about a theft and he was suggesting STREET JUSTICE would be in order.

My point is that your message about what we should have taken from a CCL education is way off and far different then it should have been.

Consequently, when men from these schools rose to the seats of power in the city and state, they were ill prepared to deal with others because of the distorted view of human dignity that they came out of these schools with.

I admire your allegiance to your alma mater. However, hell's coming to dinner in this state because of CCL guys, and it's no longer deniable.

I think he does motivational speaking too. Did he fuck Giselle Fernandez or not?

Oh, I think that's a given

That would have been great reporting if she wasnt fucking him

I don't think that Giselle Fernandez understand that.

No matter how much Robert Feder tried to get her to.

I think some do care.

I think some care to use it as a pretext to get ahead.

I think others care not at all.

That makes us a lot like the rest of society. That's not the way we should be.
