Some won't. A few will go to more games. And a whole bunch will go to less games.

I once played croquet with Les Games. Either what this is all dumb posturing on the part of the city and the Cubs. Something will get worked out and eventually the deal will get done and all of this suburb talk can go away except for when Berns needs a topic to aggrivate Cubs meatballs to call into his show and get all out of breath about the Wrigley experieince.

Northside_Dan...correct.

And Joe...that is simply opinion.

Of course it's opinion. But it's an opinion based on common sense. Right now the Cubs have something that is ONE of ONE. (Perhaps ONE of TWO if you count Fenway Park.) If you think that fact that they have this special thing no one else has and it has minimal effect on attendance and 30,000+ people per game just enjoy seeing the great losing tradition of the Cubs, I think you're mistaken. That's opinion too.

eventually both Wrigley and Fenway will go away. It's just a matter of what strategic time to do that...

I think it would silly for either team to rush along the demise of its golden goose.

Why not add windscreens behind the bleachers, then place advertisements on them? Ricketts gets the revenue he wants, gets a lot of attention for it, and also pisses off the neighbors. Dare the neighbors to take the Cubs to court.

It's probably best to not say anything when you don't know what you are talking about.

I'm sorry. I see you do it enough. Didn't think you would take issue with it.

you should have just said the jerkstore called for the appearance of a clever response

yet

Tigers still pack Comerica even though the area not within a 1/2 radius looked sketchy as shit. Their park is pretty sweet. Cubs fans will have no issue going to Arlington Hts to watch games.

I was referring more to the Palace of Auburn Hills situation and a general sensibility of the suburbs existing independent of the city. Maybe a better example would have been the Ballpark at Arlington?

Didn't think you would understand that one. Tried to dumb it down for you.

Well I mean ashes to ashes dust to dust and all of that but moving the Cubs to the suburbs is dumb.

The lower floor with a stadium in the suburbs also couples with there is less opportunity for brokers/scalpers/2nd hand sales plus impulse day of purchases. Much more people obviously in the city plus ease of public transport getting to the stadium.

more people in the city? Sure. More people that will attend a Cubs game? Not necessarily. Imagine if the Cubs played as many night games as they wanted to...imagine how many more people would show up. Plus the big money is in the suites, the extra stuff.
Part of the attraction to attending a game at Wrigley extends beyond the immediate neighborhood to the city itself. Chicago has become a much more trendy destination over the years. There's something special about travelling through the downtown and various neighborhoods which make the experience worth the extra effort. That would be lost with a suburban facility.

He's right.

Me and a lot of Cub fans that work in the loop would definitely be going to less games

I used to live 5 minutes from there. That would be fine but is there land there?

Knock down the HIP and that useless record store and we've got a good start.

Rolling Stone? That's still there?

I met "Tantrum" in there. Local band with 3 girl singers managed by Joe "The Duke" Crispino. They put on a little concert and signed albums. I still have mine.

Rather be Rockin':
