It's not about taking money away. It's about establishing different values. Do you really think "I want this! I want that!" is good values? Of course, I sound hypocritical. I grew up in the same place and in relatively the same time as you did. I can't say I'm immune to the desire to accumulate that has been instilled in me by my culture anymore than anyone else is.
