Wow. Forgot about this one. I think I read that Williams was out of his mind on drugs during this.

This movie exists in my moms house on an old, beat up VHS tape.

I don't remember it being all that good.

As I recall, there wasn't any real plot. Jules Fieffer (the writer) said they basically filmed until they ran out of money, and that was the movie!

Which, ... when you consider Popeye came out of "Thimble Theatre" (a newspaper comic strip) where storylines go on and on and on, isn't a bad way to structure the movie. But I can't say how many picked up on that aspect of it.

this was a movie my parents took me to at a drive in. I loved that movie. It isn't good in retrospect but I loved it

I liked it as a kid

Panther, how old are you that you saw a movie in 80? I thought you were like maybe 1 or 2 years old in 80

Saw it when it came out. Thought it was kind of surreal but didn't know that word at the time.

The coolest cartoon character of all time is the original Bluto with his cigar and grumblin/mumblin speech.

I am old enough to have gone to the movies in '80 - that is all I have to say about that. I don't give out birthdays or SSNs over the web, yo.

Cool, I thought you were younger.

I remember not liking it when I saw it in the theatre as a 10 year old yute. I haven't watched it since then. But I do remember really enjoying Stir Crazy and The Blues Brothers at the drive at about the same time. Kind of explains why I turned out the way I did.
