I hope Costas gets back soon so I never have to hear that stupid fucking parody song ever again. This is like the third day in a row, and I think they played it twice the first day. Jesus, give it a rest. Like, permanently. And I hate it even more because Grimace has to sing it in that weird
impersonation-y, accent-affected fake voice.

Itchy and scratchy Bob Costas-like bloodshot eyes and runny nose I think. I kinda tuned out because I wasn't all that interested and don't currently need to buy the product. He was sure to let us all know that he's tried them all and that Viagrahas the worst side effects.

That probably comes from staring at porn all night long trying to find something to rouse his penis.

I generally do not like it when callers try to "catch" the hosts but this is actually a very good call. Not saying that I think that Mac thinks it is okay to assault individuals with disabilities (especially considering his personal experience) but you have to watch what you say. Fighting people isn't really "standing up for yourself".

Also, does Mac think that it would be appropriate or a good idea for someone like say Michael Sam to stand up for himself by physically fighting people? Or would it be better to try to rise above homophobia (which makes a person sound idiotic enough to know a response isn't needed)? If so, what would the difference be with the Martin case? The only argument you could make is that Sam being gay isn't a choice but that would be weak (as a defense, not saying that homosexuality isn't biological because it is)

The thing is, though, the comments on Dan's columns were insipid at best and hate speech with threats at worst. It certainly wasn't a Dennis Miller pissing contest like Deadspin. If he got published there, he wouldn't turn the comments off.

I'm not so sure about that. He doesn't do well with debate. I don't think that's because he's stupid or incapable of making good arguments. He's just developed the bad habit of steamrolling those who disagree by controlling the conversation on his radio program, i.e., shouting over or hanging up on. Turning off the comments is merely an extension of that.

I don't even think Gawker would allow a writer to shut off comments. Dan doesn't know the meaning of hell until he tries to silence the geniusness of "WallyBackgammon," "The Brothers Kevin Kouzmanoff," and "Schrodinger's Kaat."
