I don't have a problem with him, he isn't perfect but nobody is. My limited dealings with him have been positive. It is clear that his focus has shifted to caring for his family and that is natural. I would also argue that Abbattacola started to address the homophobia in sports issue before Bernsie did.

Kinda on a sidenote: But I clearly remember being younger and hearing them use the "gay" drop. I am glad they stopped doing that as I was never comfortable with it. However, at least nowadays if I hear an adult call something "gay" in a negative sense then I automatically know they are an idiot.

i used to enjoy matty. he's the worst when he cohosts any show though. because he becomes in my eyes mini-bernstein. and he's bad at it. I enjoyed when he used his Moody education to roast dan on religious stuff he just pulled out of his ass. When he does call dan out on stuff and sticks to his guns (he usually backs down), he's good. when he comments on callers, he's good. everything else is bad.

After BernSTINE found out that the gays pay money to his wife, and then started to really care what they thought, he sure has becomequite the social arbiter.

Loved how he was saying earlier that he was "really pounding Chris Broussard" over his "hate group." He's really looking to get his name out there with this and desperately looking for validation. He ain't gonna find it.

I heard him talking a couple weeks ago about how the show has changed and progressed when it comes to gay people. It sounded pretty funny, but I think he was trying to be serious. He basically said in the last couple years he realized making fun of gay people is wrong. I've known that pretty much since I knew who gay people were.

It was weird how he immediately started firing on what Chris Broussard might say. He did it multiple times.

He seemed to be baiting the guy. I had to look up what he was even referencing with the guy. I mean, sure, CB seems like a tool but why intentionally bait the guy?

REBEL REBEL!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPOILER ALERT: Dan BeerStain is a giant whinging Caller Bob who will NEVER give you a SPOILER ALERT because "IF IT'S THAT IMPORTANT GO WATCH IT SEE IT CONSUME IT RIGHT AWAY AS SOON AS YOU CAN" and he proceeds to telling his flock that if it's that important you should go out and risk getting fired to take a day off of work, because goddammit if Dan Beerstain wants to talk about some tv show or hockey result, then goddammit Dan Beerstain is going to talk about some tv show or hockey result.

This, of course, goes back to GOOD. MONIED. PEOPLE. owning their own business or at least having a job where they're so valuable that they can take off whatever time they want whenever they want because they've earned the right. And hey if you have a job that requires you to be somewhere at a given time, well then it's incumbent on you to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and WORK. HARDER. OR. WORK. BETTER. because clearly you don't have a reason to bitch about spoilers if you've slacked off in life so much that you end up in a profession/field where your services are required at a specific time.

goddamn man.... i know these last few years have been the slow decline of the Man, the Myth, the Legend that is Dan BeerStain; our radio hero has fallen from the lofty status of transcending it all to now being someone who continually earns our scorn and disrespect due to being a giant whinging Caller Bob...... but still, despite the general barometer of the board's feelings towards BeerStain, this is one of his most overtly dickish mini/rants.... i mean, comeon, yeah people are idiots and if the point about them avoiding media is so obvious that it's worthy of matt abbatacola chiming in to retain his world heavyweight championship as the undisputed master of the obvious, then like..... yeah, you're really out-on-a-limb-dickish with whatever point you're ideologging up.

TL;DR = HOLY SHIT DAN BEERSTAIN IS A GIANT WHINGING Caller Bob RE: HIS LITTLE FUCK YOU AND YOUR SPOILER ALERTS RANT

Chris is an NBA analyst. Which is why he talked about Jason Collins. Why in the heck would Chris have any type of comment on an NFL player? Dan's attempting to chide him into a reaction (when chris if he sees the tweets must assume dan is some twitter schmoe) is going on sad but all his twitter buttbuddies would never say so. any anyone who would are sesspool commenter/twitter people.

i'm pretty sure i once saw a crappy little punk rock band named "sesspool" at the fireside bowl back around 95-96, which let me tell you was quite the "cesspool" of post-superburban punk rock culture, which can be aptly summed up by the name of sesspool's live album: PUKE IN THE GUTTERS: SESSPOOL LIVE @ THE FIRESIDE BOWL!

and btw, since you're new to the board, be sure to ask Joe Orr Road Rod (JORR) about that one time in the mid-late 80s when he hung out with the future frontman of sesspool back when he was a lowly drummer of a band called "middle-aged halcyon-daze"

Well it has progressed, its not just the stopping of the "gay" drop either. Also, Isn't it more likely that Bernsie is just responding to society realizing that GLBT people are to be respected like any other minority group? Basically, realizing that loving someone of the same gender doesn't make someone evil or sinful?

Also, I never really got the impression that Bernsie, Terry or anyone associated with the Score was an actual homophobe. They were just pretty immature and insensitive when it came to the issue. They have both addressed this.

If you don't like Bernstein then so be it. He has plenty of things to go after, him accepting GLBT people and his wife being a gay rights advocate isn't really something that I would attack.

So essentially giggling like a teenage girl at the mention of anything gay and putting the gay drop in whenever an unmanly subject was brought up was funny . Until it wasn't . Youre right it shows tremendous growth on the part of those 2 assholes.

First off, it's embarrassing how long "society" has taken to accept homosexuality. Second, I can absolutely attack a guy that openly mocked gay people up until about two years ago. Especially a pseudo-progressive guy like Bernsie.

What a wonderful world this would be if we could accept all blacks, gays and whatever group you want to choose and make fun of them. I think comedy can make things formerly taboo open and accepted. As an example the gay pride parade in any given city. I give a shit about gays, Michael Sam or anything else but I sure as shit am gonna LMAO and make fun of those parades.

Well of course you can, I just don't think it is worth the effort.

I agree with you about society, but lots of people long ago accepted GLBT people. Its that we are now reaching such a level that the majority of Americans think GLBT deserve legal protection.

Also, I feel like he stopped doing it before 2011. I do not remember him mocking gay people during that time. Could be wrong.

Anyways this really isn't worth talking about haha.

It was that Truffle Pig fellow who has taken Dan to task on a few occasions now (so I'm at least a bit surprised that they still put him on the air). In this instance he was calling Dan out for saying that the US Women's Hockey team blew a two goal lead when in fact they only blew a one goal lead, to which Dan replied he didn't care. Not too explosive.

Sounds like a terrible WYC.

Why do people still think that just being wrong about something is a WYC moment? The concept of WYC isn't exactly complicated.

He framed it by pointing out the inconsistency of being the SMART.INFORMED.BROADCASTER. who failed to actually watch or read about the game before giving an opinion about it. Again, not great but...whatever...

WYC was exceptionally bad yesterday. I think the last one was Schmutzie somehow trying to work a crap out of people's non-reaction to the Michael Sam thing. It just sounded like somebody jumping through hoops to hit a Dan Bernstein talking point. He crapped journalists for taking anonymous quotes or something. It was very unclear.

Still not as bad as the guy that crapped Rongey for saying the "Bulls played in the last 10 games winning 7" in that "of course they played in the games".

Whole segment was awful.

E-mail craps are the worst. They have ruined the segment.
