We found out this morning that our field surveyor had a heart attack yesterday at the seminar he and our survey manager were attending in Springfield.
Apparently he woke up yesterday morning and his left arm was really sore. He went to the seminar and started sweating really bad. He left, checked out of the hotel room, and drove himself to the medical center. He had 100% blockage in one of his arteries and they put in a stent. From what we understand he is o.k. and he is supposed to be released tomorrow.
Nobody really feels like working today.

I played Diablo 3 online yesterday. While I was playing with 3 other chaps from various parts of the country... one of them suddenly screamed What the Fuck??? and there was a massive crashing sound like broken glass and he immediately went offline. He has not been online since.

I spent 6 hours working on a problem yesterday and this morning. Got fed up, rolled it back, and by doing it a different way I fixed it in about 15 minutes.

So, the moral of the story is: Give up quickly.

I wouldnt call one loose end on a Kyle Orton patchwork quilt a "problem"

A guy at the office has brought donuts from Deerfield bakery with chocolate frosting on top and custard filled. I politely refuse but he insists I grab one. I

Last week I threw it in the garbage and this week I will do the same. I feel bad b/c they aren't cheap. But, donuts suck, frosting sucks and custard sucks. The trifecta of suck.

I have a feeling I will be working about 90 minutes longer than usual for the next 3-4 weeks. Updated my resume, but really need to start looking for a new job. Too much of a long story to get into, but imagine being told to build a house and you are given lumber, power tools, roofing shingles, drywall, but no nails. Would be pretty tough.

At least its Friday. And our fireplace is fixed. And thanks to Darkside from last summer we've got a bit of wood to burn. And I've got lots of beer/liquor at home. And the weather will be warmer next weekend. And...I'm hungry...

I used to think that Valentine's day was a stupid hallmark holiday, but after listening to various dudes around my office complain loudly about this very thing for the past couple of days I am starting to come around to the other way of thinking. Whats wrong with telling someone you care about you love them one day a year. Suck it up and buy some flowers and then have some sex with someone you care about. There are worse things in life.

I was in Pennsylvania earlier in the week. Was supposed to fly out Thursday morning out of Harrisburg, but made a 2 hour drive to Baltimore, and was able to get out Wednesday night in probably the first hour of that storm. I probably would have been stuck there for a couple days if I hadn't of gotten that last minute flight change done.
