Stopped in the Wheaton Binnys and picked up these:

Pipeworks Hey careful man there's a beverage here. White russian imperial milk stout.
Lake Effect Espresso Cone Stout
Spiteful Mrs. O learys chocolate milk stout

Already drank the two brothers the more the merrier chocolate/coconut ale. Pretty good. Also had a Nitro sawtooth ale and Schlaflys ESB Winter Ale. Both good.

I've never contributed to this thread before, so forgive me for not knowing if it has been mentioned before (plus there's the nonexistent search function) , but I had some New Holland Dragon's Milk at a local establishment over the weekend. GREAT stout, plus 10% ABV :drunken: . It's somewhere around around $15 a 4-pack, which actually makes Craft night at said establishment for $3 a glass a better deal by comparison.

I would ask if there's anything comparable that is a bit cheaper, but with my upcoming annual Commitment to Excellence around the corner, I'm not so sure I can hit myself with 325 calories a pop...

Dragon's don't exist, ya dingus. Just try cow milk.

If you can live without the ABV, Anderson Valley makes a Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel stout that runs about 7 a bomber and is very good. It's 7% ABV though.

The best bourbon barrel stout for me (and hardest to find) is Bell's Black Note.

Had a six pack of Ale Asylum's Hopalicious on Saturday. It's well worth it if you find it north of the border.

Had some this past summer. It's quite delicious.

Just about everything I've had from Pipeworks is pure awesome, especially Ninja vs. Unicorn IPA.

You can buy Ale Asylum locally. I think I saw Hopalicious at the beer cellar in Glen Ellyn this weekend.

It's a nice session beer with a lower ABV.

Yeah, I've seen it at that liqour store on Cicero in Crestwood (name is escaping me now, I know they only take cash)

I'm actually headed to Milwaukee after work this Saturday. I'll be on the look out.

That's the plan. Stop in Kenosha on the drive north.

Good choice. Another of my WI favs that you can only get up there is the New Glarus Black Top - Black IPA.

Got a bottle of the FFF/Surly collaboration "Blakkr" today. Wow. This is possibly one of the most complex beers I've had.

Had the Pipeworks White Russian Imperial Stout. Smoothest 10.5 beer I've ever had. Don't even know how to describe it but it's delicious.

Oberon and Two Hearted will be available in cans starting in late April.
Stand in line and buy as many as you can as soon as they come out.

Not that I know of, but I have trouble with short-sightedness.

Love both of these beers, looking forward to trying them in a can.
An aluminum can.

It's much easier to pile cans in a fridge or cooler.

We had an outdoor party last Memorial Day weekend, and the mini keg of Oberon was drained very quickly.

Last summer, my buddy and I polished one off while swimming with our families in their pool. Glad we love around the corner and i was able to walk home.

My other buddy did this with an old mini of Hopslam.

i don't know if anyone's posted about it but Sam Adams' Rebel IPA is actually pretty good. it's almost like a mockbuster version of a craft IPA but for a domestic marketed beer it's good.

now i gotta try miller fortune! and i gotta get that correct glass for it and contemplative stuff...
