a mike north scenario

i certainly think he's envious of north. but north has that chicago "da bears" blue collar feel to him which is why i think he is "successful" nationally. Dan has none of that.

I don't think GD was citing North as a national figure, but as someone whose desire to be more than just a sports talker led to his ultimate demise.

I caught that also. That is a continuation of the cheap shot crap that you typically get from the score. The whole Booyah thing used to get me also. It just strikes of an operation that has become mostly B-rate

north has carved out a pretty good niche on Fox Sports radio. He started off with a weekend show and has since moved into another morning show with Andy Furman. With those two its pretty much not listenable but its gotten good ratings it seems (2nd hand information. not sure if true or not)

so while i think his exodus from 670 was a demise, ultimately he has found national success.

this however is my impression of north on daybreak. on the nfl - "85 BEARS 85 BEARS 85 BEARS 85 BEARS 85 BEARS". on the nba - "MICHAEL JORDAN MICHAEL JORDAN MICHAEL JORDAN MICHAEL JORDAN". on any other sport - "GAMBLING GAMBLING GAMBLING"

So...anyone else have Living Colour's 'Cult of Personality" stuck in their head all day, with a few minor word changes?

Spiegel, Bernstein and Bernstein clones regularly steal or borrow without credit basketball thoughts/opinions from the excellent Zach Lowe.

You don't want to be crediting Grantland for their pop culture material but their sports articles are solid. (Excluding their horrible hockey content).
