Greg Dulli meets Ennio Morricone. I love it. God, I can't wait.

I love the fact that it's not a fucking barn burner like Honky's Ladder or Something Hot.....just keeps the suspense up for the whole album.
I, too, can't wait for this record to drop!!!!!!!!!!!
Whigs, Failure, U2........., 2014 looking to be a great year.

Those midnight Twilight Singers shows at Metro were some of the best live performances I've seen. Can't wait to finally see the Whigs.

Dude, I skipped my senior high school prom to see Whigs open for Teenage Fanclub at the Vic back in 92 for the banwagonesque/congregation tour.
One of the best decisions of my life.
I don't care what tix will cost, Chicago or Milwaukee....I'm there!!!!!!!!!!!

Whigs at the Metro for the Lolla after party was one of the best shows I've seen. When they came back later that fall Dulli was kinda in "give a fuck" mode. Hopefully he's back to caring again.

Yeah, he’s notorious for that. Been lucky to never experience that behavior from him at a show. The last TS show I attended, I was standing next to this chick who was so into Dulli, much to the dismay of her date standing next to her. As the show went on, her date became more and more uncomfortable with her screams of “I love you, Greg!”

I had to choose between the Mountain Goats and the Afghan Whigs on an October evening last year. I chose the Mountain Goats. I don't regret it in the least, but now I won't miss the Whigs when they're in town next.

Nice. were you there? I remember whigs drummer Steve came out wearing a leather thong during the encore, or something like that. 22 years ago and everything.

Oh, I love Congregation. Very underrated in the catalogue. The Uptown Avondale EP that came out right after with the cover of "Come See About Me" and the remix of "Miles Iz Ded," though, that one's a fucking 20-minute revelation.

Miles Iz ded is a fun on to play on drums, if you can play. Don't forget the alcohol.

That was the one where he wasn't into it. Came out decent and then got pissed at some dude txting. Couldn't have given 2 shits the rest of the night.

The one Lolla weekend was the tightest live show musically I have ever seen.

Top 25 Afghan Whigs/Twilight Singers songs of the now, because 10 and 20 weren't enough:

1. 66
2. Faded
3. Crazy
4. My Curse
5. Bulletproof
6. Come See About Me
7. Debonair
8. Crime Scene Part One
9. My Enemy
10. Honky's Ladder
11. Somethin' Hot
12. Bonnie Brae
13. Blame, Etc.
14. Mr. Superlove
15. Miles Iz Ded
16. Can't Get Enough of Your Love, Babe
17. Gentlemen
18. Omerta/The Vampire Lanois
19. Love
20. That's Just How That Bird Sings
21. I'm a Soldier
22. Congregation
23. Teenage Wristband
24. Papillon
25. Forty Dollars

And I'm sure I made a glaring omission or two at this late hour. That they weren't bigger than they were just makes me want to wail at the top of my lungs. Great songwriting, great arrangements, just the right mix of raw passion and attitude.

See, I knew I forgot something. I thought maybe it was "Be Sweet" that I wrongfully omitted.

Nice read. It's a terrific album on the first listen and I know it's only gonna get better.

"Lost in the Woods" is proving itself to be right up there with "Honky's Ladder" and "My Curse" in their pantheon of Real Bad Shit's About To Go Down songs. Whoever said "Algiers" was a good song but they were holding back on the lead single nailed it. "The Lottery" is like an outtake from Gentlemen.
