I'm not rpb but I'd view anyone in a bad light who doesn't pay taxes though most illegal immigrants do pay the taxes they can.

I'm not sure driving without a license would qualify. However, when someone who is unlicensed causes an accident like this I'd probably view them in a bad light. It is even worse if they turn it into a hit and run.

I think we should offer immigrants who are already here a simple way to become citizens.


I think we should be very hard (deportation) on those who are here illegally and then commit felonies on top of that.

Got a question that many here are overlooking.
Here in Illinois illegals can get drivers permits/licences. So if she is here illegally she has not fulfilled the requirements to get one?
Also,if this happened in Chicago proper she would not have to worry about her status because Chicago is a fucking sanctuary city as decreed by Daley a year or so before he left office. Police are not allowed to ask someones status or if they do find out there are illegal to inform or turn them over to INS.

Moral of the Thread: If you see someone who seems to be some sort of immigrant doing something illegal and fleeing from the police, don't speculate they are probably not here as a citizen or a documented worker. Instead, suspect they have an outstanding warrant, probably for murder, but certainly something much worse than a hit and run. Then, you won't be racist or a jerk.

The circumstantial evidence does make it more likely than anything else that she ran for fear of being deported. You shouldn't have to apologize for thinking that was the likely cause. Im biased in this case because I am currently dealing with what I consider to be over regulation of citizens. So when I see someone who is ignoring these regulations and getting away with it, it bothered me. Its not an immigrant thing. If a rich high school kid did it i would have dbd rich high school kids who dont have to follow laws.


My issue was with people who dont follow laws and i blamed it on immigrants who dont follow laws. The immigrants who break the law should get no more sympathy or blame than anyone else

She didn't speak english, wouldn't give me her license (didn't have one), and didn't have proof of insurance or a sticker on the license plate...right across the street from the Lincolnshire Village Hall. The cops came. Took my information, told me I was pretty much screwed, and then walked the women across the street to the police department.

Not sure what happened to them. I can tell you that my truck bumper was never fixed. We sold the truck in the fall.
