Maybe one day you'll step back and realize why the assumption you made was wrong and offensive.
If you associate illegal immigrant with a race that is on you. Don't put whatever you think about illegal immigrants on everyone else.

I think your post may have merit with a different poster Brick. But in this case, we have a poster that has carefully crafted an image around here of racial tolerance. Someone who has repeatedly stirred a racial pot here. I'm just glad he didn't bring George Zimmerman into it.

Seacrest admitting bias. I like it

I am tolerant of all races.

I'm not tolerant of people who break the law. This isn't a race thing. Its an immigrant thing. I would have said the same thing if she was a polish immigrant.

But it wasn't a Polish immigrant. And you didn't.

You finally played the bigotry card on yourself. It was only a matter of time.

Right I didn't DB the fictional polish immigrant, that would be insane

I don't play the bigotry card. You're mistaken, again

I'm not an aspiring rapper
I dont attack Steve or Scorehead on racial issues
I don't play the bigotry card

And if you think being intolerant of illegal immigrants = bigotry, then Ill just have to disagree

Invited? More like incompetence.

I don't know if there are any legitimate plans to do this. It sounds really sad though so I understand why you'd include it.

Because more people have been deported in the last five years than any other time in history. Some of whom are picked up in traffic stops and shipped out of the country without ever seeing their families again. It's sad, and very true.

And I personally believe that our country has turned a blind eye to much of what has gone on near out southern borders.

Our need to show we're "tough on the borders" are creating many more problems. Sending felons back is far different than sending the guy that has worked in the field all day doing a job that no other American wants to do.

I thin BRick posted something similar already Nas but you keep referring to jobs no one else would do. Without seeming too much like a bigot , Im pretty sure lettuce would still get picked and be bountiful and lawns would still get mowed if all the illegals working those jobs were sent back.

Put the Mexicans on a 5 step work visa.

Each 18 months or so,somebody checks on their visas to make sure they are working & staying out of trouble. After they pass the 5th Visa, they can become citizens.
It seems fair to me. Just have to work out the # of Visa's & time needed.

When President Obama started his deportation spree his administration wasn't focusing on felons and a lot of hardworking illegals were deported. Their jobs were offered to Americans but they either refused them or quit like after a day. Stephen Colbert touched on it too IIRC.

Im pretty sure in time they would've been filled quite nicely. I have a little more faith in people than that.

Trust me. Those jobs would not get done.

I never had anyone born in the states ever apply to be a dishwasher or a bar back. NOTA SINGLE APPLICATION.

A buddy of mine was a bar back one winter, when he was laid off from construction. He made decent money.

Guy I would like to add a different perspective on this. The general Pittsburgh has like 1% or less Hispanic population legal or illegal. I have no idea why but assume it has to do with lack of agriculture. They do however grow mushrooms in old mines in different parts of PA. Anyway, I was in total shock when I moved here. All the landscaping owned and operated by white people. It was so weird to be on golf course or sub divisions and see this. And forget about finding a group of Mexican guys to tape your drywall when you finish your basement and so on.

The bottom line is there are people doing jobs here and getting at least minimum wage I assume if not more. It gets done and people want to do it.

Some would. Some would be unable to.

We would have been unable to operate without undocumented workers.

I had a 15 year old Mexican kid working for me knocking down $50K as a bar set up and bar back guy.

Bullshit. Just like the minimum wage argument. Prices might rise whatever but if you provide what people need it will get bought and people will do the work.

You are mistaken.

I ran a high end club. The price we charged had no bearing on who came in looking for work.
And let me tell you, if you think that all people are motivated by money alone, i'm here to tell you that you are mistaken.

You raise a good point Hatchet.

RPB proved me right when I asserted last month that he had a habit of bringing race into discussions unnecessarily. I'll let it go if he agrees to never again bring up something that chas said seven years ago or so. Fair enough?

Well then you are right I do not understand your business. As I illustrated above out here the landscaping and drywall work gets done.

I was looking for some people to do some work for me recently and posted it on Craigslist. I had over 50 people call me and many of them basically begging me to do the work. I met with 25 and offered the work to 5. Of those 5 people 4 of them found excuses to be late or not show up. They were immediately replaced. Everyone wants the money but not many want to actually do the work. There are many jobs that Americans haven't had to do in generations that are being done by undocumented immigrants and our country benefits a great deal because of their work.

I ran ads for help. No Americans one ever came in. I hired folks and helped them get documentation. They worked hard and were paid extremely well for their efforts. Some even got DUI's. I had a lawyer on speed dial for them. One was even involved in a hit and run. We were able to get through that also.

My views on "illegal Mexicans"?

Either call me a racist or just drop this. Your passive aggressive nature is getting old with this. Earlier in the thread, you said you weren't calling anyone racist. However, now I have views on "illegal Mexicans". Once again "illegal immigration" is not a Mexican issue. They may be the group with the most representation in the group.

This woman was most likely an illegal immigrant. I stand by that. It's the most logical reason why someone who likely is an immigrant would be so concerned about the police and willing to commit a felony to get away from them. Maybe she was a murderer, or a jewel thief, or something else. What I do know is she isn't running simply because she doesn't have a valid license.

Yes we know your views. You've had very strong opinions that many thought were wrong in the past. I don't think you are a racist as I've said a million times today and millions of times in the past. I just think you're wrong and too stubborn to reconsider your views. What you assumed isn't the most logical reason why someone would run away from an accident. In your mind it is only logical because she may have been an immigrant. Your reasoning is wrong.
