I run outside all winter. When I would run with my friend Craig he would sometimes wear shorts even when it was around 30 degrees. He liked to say. "a runner's legs reach 106 degrees." I have no idea if that is true or not, but I'm sure not going out bare-legged in this shit. Another guy we used to run with and I still joke whenever we see some dope wearing shorts in the cold that " a runner's legs reach 106 degrees."

I realize it's a badge of honor or sign of being a real runner but I can't run outside in the cold. Give me 90s or humid 80s.

Running in the cold is no problem for me -- I have the gear. As long as the wind is not brutal I am good to about 5 degrees. But when there is snow and ice -- forget it. It is not worth the risk of falling.

I have set attire for every 10 degrees. I wear shorts starting in the 40s. 30s and below it's pants.

that nearly happened to me a few times when i tried running outside in the winter here...so i did what any sane person would do, and joined a gym. treadmill running is boring but if you make a boss playlist on your mp3 player or ipod it sure beats risking something like what happened to poor chelsea...something tells me she's used to being on her back though.

Bought the underarmour, gloves, leggings etc etc etc. Gave it a try and concluded just not a cold guy. I'm jealous of cold runners bc as WZ mentioned treadmill running is the worst. Sooooo boring.

I run sporadically. Ill do it for like 3 months, then stop. Then start again six months later. But I never start in hot weather. Fuck that. Give me 20 degrees.

Warm up pants, a sweatshirt and a hoodie and youre fine

That depends on where you are running.

If you haven't, you might consider training for a race. For me, that is what gives running a purpose. Otherwise I would be in the same boat.

 I cut it short this morning after I fell on my ass. There are sheets of ice on the sidewalks. I don't mind the splashing but I don't want to break an arm.

I've tried indoor running or a facsimile and I just can't stick with it. I'm constantly counting the laps. It's horrible.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I actually tried that last time. Was thinking about running a 5K. So when I got to the point where I could run three miles without stopping I was like Alright cool, I CAN do it. Nothing left to prove
