Good job, Spmack. You keep tracking this. I'll bet Finfer congratulated drinky the first time drinky completed a sentence without saying "Ahhhhhhh". Drinky should return the favor for Ben's achievement.

Hey, did Ben say good-bye on the Mac show today? If so, what time?

Where the hell are you, Finfer? Answer these question.

Don't BIG TIME us just cuz you got made. Remember, you're with Quigley and Grifith on a bad frequency. And you're taking on B&B for 2 hours. You can't big time anybody right now.

From the "predict the reaction" thread:

Curious Hair wrote:
- Sir will talk about how someone there is only there because they couldn't make it at the Score, unlike one Laurence Holmes, and that person is a hack and a bad dude and also a racist, isn't that right, Joe Ostrowski, and let's see if it feels like a step up when he's out of work in nine months and burned all his bridges in this business, unlike one Laurence Holmes. But he's not worried about them. Don't think that for a moment. However, he will discuss 87.7 more than all the daytime hosts combined.

We'll see!

Oh, by the way, congratulations.

Thanks Beardown. I'll be helping out with Kaplan and Haugh from 9-12. Then I'll be with Kap from 12-1. And then Howard Griffith and Alex Quigley from 1-3.

Yes, it went down quickly. Extremely quickly. A week ago I had no idea this was coming. Once I was offered the gig things moved really fast.

Yes, of course Mac helped get me hired. But not necessarily by being friends with management. He's given me every opportunity I've had in this business. Of course I had to do something with it. But I'd be nowhere without him.

As far as Mac coming over in June...we shall see.

I would probably abandon the score if Mac was on afternoons.

Congrats Ben. So what was the deal when you posted like crazy for about a week and then shut it down. Were you told by management to stay away from here? Beardown is on fire in this thread by the way.

What a shock coming from 2 of the more insecure dickwads humanity and the Score has to offer.

Can we just re-name "Ask" threads as "Shit I would never say to your face but I can type it on the internet"? Much more appropriate.

Good luck, Finji.

I expect a solid hour of Illini talk from that crew everyday.

Also, you'll never make a good show name from those names. Go with an Afternoon Saloon-type name.

Not jealous at all. Didn't ask a question. And you notice Finji didn't really answer any questions either

-Do you now expect a full on attack from Laurence Holmes now that you are no longer at the Score? That's what he does when people leave the SCORE. Acts like a friend when you are there. Attacks the second you leave.

He gave me a 3-minute massage, is that weird?

Laurence has been nothing but generous and supportive.

In fairness to Beardown, Laurence does break bad on ex-employees a lot.

Come on Beardown, I was hoping you'd be more provocative.

Are you annoyed that there was no upward mobility at the Score? If so, do you blame Mac for that? Did this influence your decision to leave WSCR?

Were you disappointed when Meatpants signed a new contract?

Did you enjoy working for Laurence? What did you think about his potentially getting the mid-day spot permanently?

Was Laurence disappointed when Mac came back?

What did you think of the Matt Bowen analyzes tape on the radio segment?

For some reason the first time I answered these it didn't submit. So here we go again.

I wouldn't call the lack of upward mobility annoying. It's definitely frustrating. But it's just the nature of working in this business in this market. I certainly don't blame Mac for that. And it obviously influenced my decision to leave the Score. I want air time. The Score didn't have it for me.

Was not disappointed when Spiegel signed his contract. He's a friend.

Yes I enjoyed working with Laurence. Always have. That guy is a talented host and a great teacher for youngsters in the business. My first preference was to have Mac hosting the show. But if he hadn't returned I would have been just fine producing for Laurence.

I won't miss anyone. There isn't anyone there I disliked working with and I'll keep in touch with plenty of them. But I won't miss them.

Will you talk any national NBA on your new show? B&B is really the only show I've heard do it, and they are awful at it.

For apples - apples comparison please assume your job would be in the suburbs if you lived in the suburbs.

Doesn't this depend on situation? I'm single so the city is great. But if I had a family I'd prefer the burbs.

What is the station doing on the weekends? Who's going to be pulling 6-hour Sunday afternoon shifts with Daytona 500 updates?
