Mike, you are completely biased and partisan. If you think economic policy is noticeably different between the two major parties, you need to do some research. This is a response to your post in the wrong thread that was meant for this thread.

Sounds like Joe the Plumber and Elmhurst Steve should go into business together.

Yeah saw I posted in wrong one. I understand the similarities. That is why I was ok with Clinton's presidency economically as it was more in line with my preferences. Obama's is not. I guess I am not doing a good job of making the point that during W's presidency things went into the tank after 9/11. Then they were actually quite good until what 2007? I assumed his stimulus ideas worked better that Obama's stimulus ideas. From my viewpoint nothing Obama has done to date has made today better than 2008.

Who is worse?
Joe the Plumber taking a union job to keep eating and living as a Republican who was used to prove a point?
Warren Buffett continuing to abuse the tax system as much as he can for the benefits of his rich shareholders and himself as a current Democrat who was used to prove a point?

You know what my favorite stimulus was??

I bought my house in 2008 and we got $7,500 dollars that had to be paid back $500 a year for 15 years. It worked great for moving expenses, new furniture etc. We pay it back at tax time and it isnt that big of a deal because it's all found money being shuffled around.

The real cuntpunt about all of it is that in 2009 first time homebuyers got $8,000 that they didnt have to pay back at all. FUCK THAT. What a steaming pile of fuck.... I can't believe there hasnt been some kind of lawsuit to get that changed. I dont have an issue paying, I have an issue with people NOT paying because they bought a house 5 months after I did.

Right after the worst security failure this country has ever seen, under his watch. Are you among the kooky that give him a pass for that, despite ignoring intelligence that said an attack was likely?

It takes more than 9 months for a President to be accountable for things that happen, right?

So would you place full blame on Obama for the crappy economy of the last 6 years then?

No, those people just got lucky due to an ignorant government. I'm pissed the government would do that. I didnt care about paying until you see people the very next year not have to pay.

Boy, who would have thought that a thread at the CSFMB would get derailed so quickly?

I'm talking specifically about Bush and Cheney ignoring security warnings, which they did, because they were so hung up on invading Iraq. Many people, like PittMike, want to do revisionist history. That's their choice.

Do you think that with the intel we had at the time, that these 9/11 attacks could have been prevented? I mean, there was no specific intel, like names or airports or dates or anything like that. What type of response would you have expected the administration to have taken that could have preventative effects?

I don't know. I have never had to wear that hat. Again, I'm talking about people like PittMike, who seem to absolve Bush of any responsibility for what happened on 9/11. These people are usually quick to blame Obama for everything.

It's pretty funny to me that, if somebody is talking about Obama, they aren't allowed to bring up Bush. Here I am talking about a HUGE Bush failure, and all the responses are about Obama.

I think Hank is pitching some weird ponzi sceme wherein the people who bought a house 6 months after him have to pay him back $500 a year to cover his outlay.

It was a thread about Joe the Plumber, who bitched about Obama's policies, which in the end, helped him. PittMike invoked 9/11, and how poor W had to recover from that. It's all right there for you.

The PDB that everyone likes to bring up is very vague. I'm not sure what kinds of actions Bush could have taken that would have prevented the terrorist attacks... therefore, I really am reluctant to call it a HUGE failure. It was a successful operation launched against us with the element of surprise.

That sounds good. PLease make the check out to Henry Scorpio

You've got to run it though a shell corporation that no one's ever heard of, like Scorpiotronics or the Midwest Sports Fan Message Board.

Good point. Make it out to the Chicago Arts and Science Historians or CASH as we are more commonly known.

I have no doubt Bush and Cheney share a lot of blame for 9/11. So does Clinton. He also ignored his top intelligence advisors and massively cut intelligence in the Middle East. See No Evil is a book that does a great job detailing that. And once again we have D's and R's blaming eachother when it's clear both parties are equally harmful to our country.
