Seems like everybody is declaring that Jason Collins is the first openly gay active player in the four pro sports. He is not. This isn't actually that hard to find either.

In less than 5 minutes on Google, all of these places are false reporting that Collins is the first. Seems like the more mainstream a media outlet is, the more sensationalized and less credible their actual reporting is.

I read about that too. ESPN was fooled as well. It's especially funny though that one branch of Fox aired it and Fox News was still fooled.
