Why, I don't think that's very simple at all!

Rick will be the first tile to go down in a domino effect that slowly tilts Terry and Dan to start turning on the Cubs.

BB have lost me in the car, when the option is a quick flick of the steering wheel away. WSCR still remains primary station when in the office.

movement of that dial is a much bigger deal. Like when leary come in, it moved the dial!

the sad thing is, and I say this is sad because I love Terry, but by the time this all works itself out with the Cubs for good or bad, this show in its current format will no longer be on the air.

They've made the claim, emphatically, that baseball mgrs don't matter at all....yet Rich R. "Hasn't said anything profound" so he's a dope, a horrible mgr and the Cubs are doomed.

Worst show on the Score.

I think you're confused with hitting instructors.

Nope. Although they do think hitting instructors to be useless as well.

at least we agree on one thing...it's all about bites at the apple.

Every baseball thought should now be "what gets you closer to making the playoffs every year". Any other statement is WYC material.

Starting early on the celebration of commerce, but at least they admitted that the Cubs are fucked if the sports media bubble (that is to say, the subsidization of sports by cable subscribers who don't like sports) bursts, which is a development for them.

They're usually about seven minutes.

Did Zach say the Hawks are playing the Islanders or are my ears failing me?

Waves of bilingual benevolence that create a nurturing environment that cultivates development can't be analytically measured - so they don't exist and certainly don't matter. That's what I've been taught.

I do think that Arizona should lose the Super Bowl if they sign the anti-gay law, but Dan rooting for them to do it so he can say they should lose the Super Bowl is kind of messed up. I'd just prefer they not sign it.

I'm sure a few have, but not as many as there should be.

Arizona is just the worst, the worst, the worst. It's the worst of California and Texas combined in one smog-filled, sprawled-out, gun-clutching shithole of fear and loathing. Everything they do is wrong.

Oh, and good to see that the NHL, the sports league that has had the longest and closest association with anti-homophobia initiatives, went to such great lengths to keep a team in metro Phoenix just in time for their businesses to refuse service to gay customers. Fuck Arizona.

I liked Terry's question. Why is AZ like this? Seems very strange. A lot of people retired should be happy and relaxed in the warmth. There is a lot of Hispanic population a couple very large universities where you think there is a liberal base. I just don't see how some of this shit goes on. Whether reelecting Sheriff Joe all the time or this law. Things just don't add up to me.

Love Terry going at Dan. Happens like once every 5 years.

Dan: So you're saying you would do it if you're the Bears, because I wouldn't.

 Dan had a WTF tone in his voice like "why is Terry disagreeing with me?"

Unfortunately Terry's thought was dumb and Dan is right. Oh well.

well, Latinos aren't real big on gay rights and probably don't vote all that much. Look, this place generated Barry Goldwater, so it's always been kind of screwy.

And yes, the greater Phoenix area, which is probably 80% of the population is a real unpleasant place.

Well, U of A is in Tucson, which does tend to be more liberal, but when we talk about "Arizona," we're really talking about Phoenix and the outlying suburbs: Scottsdale, Glendale, Tempe, Chandler, et al. I don't know or care what goes on up in Flagstaff.

I think what you see in Arizona is this kind of unholy coalescence of retirement culture, Southwestern culture, and suburban culture. You have older people who should be happy and relaxed but can't have their happiness and relaxation until they know that no one can bother or offend them. You have a part of the country that has always valued having guns more than other parts. And you have an area that has been allowed to develop into oblivion, where everyone wants their private space at the expense of public space. It all mixes together into this weird soup where everyone wants to be left alone but also wants Law And Order, to do whatever they want but not for other people to do whatever they want, for the government to stay out of their business but also to keep laying down that fresh asphalt farther out and out and out and out and out.

It's culturally untenable, but it might be physically untenable, because these dumb motherfuckers are all gonna run out of water pretty soon, and then what.

The folly of trying to build Las Vegas into a traditional metropolis is going to shine through when Lake Mead dries out. And let me tell you, the water level there certainly isn't going up.

Flagstaff is weird in that it looks like it shouldn't be in AZ. Brother's GF goes to school at NAU and my cousin lived up there to escape the nuttyness of the Valley. I enjoy all the outdoors activity and elevation of Flagstaff.

Metro Phoenix is essentially just a collection of suburbs and transplants or retirees from rorthern state suburbs. Not really surprising a metro area of WASPs vote the way they do. And then of course you have the hillbillies who love tearing up the desert in lifted trucks, dirt bikes etc and shooting guns. Must say after trying it I can see why.

California is drinking their milkshake. You have to wade through pages and pages of arcane law and agreements to understand how they split the water up in the Colorado River Valley. But by all means, grow more fucking almonds!

you can desalinate ocean water for about double what they pay now. convert the golf courses to astroturf and they'd have enough water.
