CHICAGO, IL (Feb. 27, 2014) – This fall, Food Network Magazine will create the first-ever Food Network in Concert event at Ravinia, a jam-packed day of live music and spectacular food featuring some of today's best music and culinary talent.

This all-day experience will take place on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at Ravinia, the nation's oldest and most programmatically diverse music festival, and will be headlined by seven-time Grammy-winning recording artist John Mayer, who has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Other can't-miss live-music performances will take place throughout the day accompanied by mouthwatering dishes from many of Food Network's most popular personalities, including Anne Burrell, Alex Guarnaschelli, Jose Garces, Jeff Mauro, Marc Murphy, Geoffrey Zakarian, and more. Additional musical and food talent, including some of Chicago's most celebrated chefs, will be announced in the coming weeks.

This first-of-its-kind event brings the "rock stars" of the food and music worlds together, with multiple music stages, lively cooking demos, wine and food tastings, talent meet-and-greet opportunities, and much more, creating an unforgettable food and entertainment experience at Ravinia.

I'm told Paula Deen and Guy Fieri are working on something similar for the Gathering of the Juggalos this year.

Jamie Deen sorta looks like Justin Bateman so I think he is hot.

Tyler Florence is overlooked and underrated on TFN. 15 years ago it was a pretty good station now I probably watch the same amount of PBS. America's Test Kitchen, Nick Stellino, Rick Bayless are all good.

I like Rick Bayless' show. He's got a super-creepy manner about him that is mesmerizing and his interactions with Lanie are special.

Plus, the food usually looks good.

Steve Raichlen is the greatest.

I'll never forget his discussion on whether to put grill marks on both sides of your steak.

So do I.

I feel like I'd be making Steve Raichlen cry if I didn't.

How does one properly cook a steak without putting grill marks on both sides?

I'd like one side of my steak mostly brown and a little dried out, the other side I'd like raw and slightly bloody.

If you flip in the same spot, the grill won't be as hot as when you first put it on. You need to find a fresh spot for the flip to get the good marks.

But, he was referring to the crossmarks on doing the 90 degree turn midway through the cook.

I'm a huge fan of the Jake Peavy-looking Tyler Florence [/SHARK]
I really liked his "Ultimate" show...especially the original format where he would go check out a couple versions of whatever the topic was and then go back to his kitchen and make his version of it.

I think one day you and others will learn it isn't the same no matter how hard you try to make it or how many times you say it.

That works too. A couple weeks back, it was just too cold to fire up the charcoal grill, so I pan seared two ribeyes. It was glorious.

I have a Weber Genesis gas grill where the grates are two pieces. I think you can get a cast iron one to use as one half to sear and then finish on other side.

Whoa! You've gotta be kidding me, right? Last time I was in Chicago I ran over a speed bump in the SS that was bigger than those. If we're truly talkin' tits my girl Annie Burrell has got a coupla ten gallon milk jugs. She might be a lesbo, But I never minded gettin' in her kitchen.
