If Tracy Topps is there, she's likely 114 years-old with 66 DDD's scraping against her feet, but tell her Dr. Ken says hello.

My neighbor is getting a divorce and now she wants Mrs. Dr. Ken and I to go out to dinner with her and her new dude who she thinks I'd really get along with. She apparently doesn't realize that I don't like anyone. Plus the guy is pushing the envelope of middle-age driving a sports car in a typical "look at me" color. I'm pretty sure this won't work.

I barely get to go out to dinner with my wife on my own. Why would I want to take that rare opportunity to do this?

Ya no way would you want to go

So anyway let us know how it goes

Made plans Saturday night to take my wife to dinner at the Grotto. No reservations available at Weber grill or Cooper's Hawk.

Pull up to the front door and...they are out of business. Well at least my daughter's wedding there went well and they didn't take off with my deposit.

Went to Volare, we had never been. Valet sucked but my wife loved the food.

My wife was upset when they closed. She loved that place.

If the valet was the worst part of the night, then I would say it went well.

Our daughter's wedding at Grotto was awesome. Finally made plans to go for dinner and they are gone.

lol @ CH saying "please dont make this a rolling thread" so biggie literally says "OK" and makes it a rolling thread. poor guy.... he's far and away the best poster on the board so i can see the curiosity with him and his life, but still when he says he doesn't want to make his date the focus of a rolling thread and.... c'est la vie. what can ya do?

that's the price you pay for being the most interesting poster on the board. people want to know about you and they poke and they prod and like, yes, i am awash in the ocean of irony myself, but hey at least it's not a public referendum! (for the record, i can relate to CH and it turns out we had a somewhat similar educational experience growing up, and that's what i was looking to see. he's an honors student gone right, i'm an honors student gone left)

as for me, i'm not even contemplating the dating scene at this moment. there's literally no point unless i come across another brilliant chick who wants to be a few years ahead of her time (as i did quite well in terms of my first go-around with all that boy/girl stuff) although there was a chick who looked like rose mcgowan / christina ricci @ the bar on saturday night, but she was all rolling with the bouncer dude which would suggest boyfriend/girlfriend status or at least some sort of "real good friend" paradigm which = the chick goes out of her way to show the bar that she's not there to meet you. indeed, the story of my life is pretty much any chick i'd want to go for is already someone's girlfriend/fiancee/wife because it's true that the good ones are taken. you just gotta register your (admiral) awesomeness with her so when the future works out, well there you are and once again c'est la fucking vie.

i made her laugh, for the record. and doubly for the record, JORR can vouch for my sporadic powers in the field as i believe he was witness to me copping two phone #s on the walk from the mcnuggets-eating-contest-pub to the car, the second of which = i thought i lost him and his people and was gonna have to take a $40+ cab home =/

WTF are you talking about?????? didnt say shit about him or the thread.

Let me suggest for some, if you dont want to touch on the issue of your dating/wife or GF status to not mention it.

Ah a trick question ... the amount is irrelevant, as it would be the last in the sequence.

Several years ago the wife and I stumbled into a Leery remote downtown. She got sick a few hours later.

A couple years ago she was supposed to meet me at a B&B remote in Arlington Heights, right near her job. She never showed up

How do you even see your neighbors? Do you have to take a monorail or a speed boat?

I might go out again with the Ex again this weekend. Such a complicated situation. She's going to be a surrogate mother for a family friend who cant carry children.

That combined with her living situation and employment and its just a large mountain to climb. I might try though.

It doesn't make you sound like an asshole, but come on, man. She's a surrogate. It's not like she broke your heart by getting knocked up in a gang bang. I'd be proud of her for doing something so selfless.

Oh I absolutely admire that she's doing it and that is part of the reason I like her so much. She's incredibly selfless. I didnt come off right in that post because Im trying to share some details but not all. Its not really the surrogate thing. Its that plus her living situation and job situation is in flux. Just a bunch of unanswered questions about the very near future. She feels the same as I do. We both want to try again, but we realize there are a bunch of obstacles.

I think I like her enough to try

Go for it. If it isn't those obstacles, it will be others. As Lloyd Carr once said, "it isn't a perfect world".

The only thing I learned from my college philosophy class was one changes when a railroad spike is jammed into his head. Also, my professor labeled me a "floater," because I switched seats nearly every class.
