That didn't work too well for Kramer. Crossing a line while being funny is important.

But that has nothing to do with political correctness.

I cant stand either Palin or McCain.

We've become a society of soft whiny little bitches.

I agree with the last part. But stop labeling it as ALL liberal thing. It's all of society. Trust me - there are whiny old conservative bitches out there complaining just as much about some joke that is offensive to their people. Our whole society is always looking for something to complain about.

Of course. I think that goes without saying.

The Comedy Central Roasts could be considered the most offensive things I've ever watched, but no one gets offended. Why?
Because
a) it's funny; and
b) all the prudes who wouldn't like it just don't watch.

If they're that sensitive about everything, just don't watch TV, don't listen to radio, don't get on the internet, and don't go outside your house.

You're absolutely right. I am wrong for doing it. I used to use the word retarded a lot too until I realized how offensive to some. Now I try to offend people in other ways.

I know you're offended by the use of n-----. So even though I find the usage "the n word" to be utterly childish (we all know what word we're talking about, why the fear of spelling it out?), why would I use it when I know it bothers a guy I like? To do so would make me a jerk-off.

BR original moniker was Kramer. After Kramer chanted that word BR quietly changed his moniker.

JORR I am not bothered by the word. I was bothered by how comfortable a lot of people got posting the word. Some were enjoying using the word without anyone complaining. If you called me that next week you wouldn't get an angry response from me.

I just think worrying about the use of a word creates a false narrative about what racism really is and gets people focusing on the trivial rather than the important.

EXAMPLE: Who do you think is a bigger racist Riley Cooper or Rahm Emanuel?

It's a generational & experience thing. I still am bothered by the word and most will get an angry response from me. It isn't trivial to me, nor do I think it gets people more focused on the trivial here. It shows either a lack of respect by the user or a bit of misguided familiarity except for a very select few people I'm close to.

Of course, anything can be personal. I'm referring to the concept seemingly promoted by mass media and by our culture at large that wiping out the use of a word magically wipes out racism. That's nothing more than a salve for the guilty.

Although the word is certainly associated with racism, there are plenty of racists who never say it and plenty of people who use it who are not virulent racists at all.

Agreed. I'm reminded of a Royko column equating Deerfield home fundraisers for the NAACP and the rioters in Gage/Marquette Park when we were much younger. Except in their use of the N word.

As for the plenty who use it and aren't virulent racists, yeah perhaps, but most of them are idiots in my book.

When I am throwing down some rhymes, even if I am not with my homies, I substitute the word "Willis," in honor of the late Todd Bridges.
