Forgot to add that it is a National League League

Crap, I guess that means Shoo and Beltran are out. So that may swing it to Team A

Yes, that changes it.

Also missed Shelby Miller at first glance

Cuddyer for $6, unless V-Mart still has catcher eligibility.

yeah even tho my teams are proudly cuddyer-free-zones, i reckon he's the best value out of that lot.

and uhhh.... obviously i like the pitching of team A, but that offense is a fucking joke, even for a NL-only league. so yeah i'd go with team B and hope that strasburg can teabag shelby miller this year.

hey RFDC there might be one slot left in my 5x5 roto league, you can join JORR, juiced, chus, and others in it..... and you can get your ass curbstomped by me and my co-commish, who is still undefeated in the league's 2yr history.

If it's a Yahoo league pretty sure V-Mart still has C eligibility.

V-Mart does not, but I read Detroit plans to start him at C occasionally, so there's a good chance he will regain it. For reference, we can keep ten players. These three were just the ones vying for tenth spot. Won the last two years in this league, so I need to three peat!

It's a CBS league, BM.

Would you trade Syndergaard for Verlander and Bruce? The background info: Syndergaard is currently on my minor league roster, so I can keep him next year with no salary increase. I wouldn't be keeping Verlander and Bruce, given their salaries. Bruce would be an upgrade on my #3 OF. I figured I could keep Verlander benched in case he turns it around. Apparently the guy in last loves Syndergaard.

jay bruce is shitting the bed this year.... i know because i have him in my first ever $$$ league (H2H) and he's something like .241/5/21/5 or whatnot, and that's troubling because jay bruce was never much of an average hitter but once he got going you could always count on him for his 30+ HR and his 100+ RBI.... and now that's being called into question, so i wouldn't be so quick to go acquire him even tho you'd be doing it on the cheap.

but then again i don't know his contract situation and given that the reds are somewhat of a hot mess what with all of the aging and the homer bailey contracts you figure he's going to be penciled in there every day until it's nigh time to get rid of him cuz i have no idea what, if anything, they have in the pipeline to possibly compliment/supplant/replace him down the road.

since syndegaard is a buzzworthy name if i decided to move him for current MLB talent i'd try to do better than getting busted players out there having crappy years, cuz that's what you're signing up for in verlander and bruce. while they both have track records of success and you figure their #s could/should ascend to the mean, still, it's possible they're establishing a new career-mean level of lower performance, and you'd hate to give up a kid with a chance at being pretty good for a couple of guys in the decline phase of their careers.

Don't listen to Sini. You make that trade IMMEDIATELY.

I accepted it, actually. I've traded away a ton of prospects in this league who turned out to be very good (Trout, Posey, Bumgarner, Zimmerman to name a few), 'cause I'm always in "win now" mode. I'm willing to take the risk on two guys with proven track records for a Mets SP prospect.

There is always a better chance that a prospect will be okay or suck.

Yep. Thanks for the responses, Nas and Sini.

or you realize that's roughly the market value for syndegaard and you go shop around 4-5 different offers to see if you can do better.

essentially you're counting on jay bruce to completely bounce back and shrug off what's approaching 1/2 of a career worst season and you're counting on verlander to regain a form that he hasn't had for two years.... and most troubling is that a perfunctory look at his stats tell you that even when he was having a 4.84 ERA back in 2008 he only gave up 195 hits in 201IP, yet after a noticeable uptick in 2013's H/9 after his run of dominance from 2009-2012 this year he's gone off the deep end and already given up 111 hits in 91 innings.

considering that verlander's a freak in terms of his extreme durability and thus high mileage, yeah, i wouldn't bet on the guy to be the kate-upton-fucker that he was during his 09-12 stretch. and when it comes to prospects it's not even about how good they are, it's about good other people think they are. that reminds me of this one time i convinced some sap to trade me kershaw+darvish for strasburg, albeit at my cost of cashing out mike trout and a replacement level 1B for a few solid bats.

ah well, c'est la vie. how's strasburg's quest to be the best pitcher in baseball going anyways, nas? kershaw had a decent game tonight....

oh wait.... good dolphin made a post that said he doesn't like it when people talk on a messageboard, they should say what they want to say in one word or less. and nas only reads the first two and last two sentences... so let's attempt this whole post again in a CSFMB-approved posting ethos:

yeah, who needs all of that pointless statistical analysis in the middle of the post? it's not like this is some fantasy baseball thread where people might want to have a little research/evidence to back up the claims made by a poster. ah well.... at least you two are happy, and again, that's what posting here is all about: kissing everyone else's ass.

Well, for the record, looks like the trade was vetoed anyway.

Your league is crazy unless they vetoed it for being an absolute heist for you.

How many titles have you won Sini? You gave me Trout/Strasburg/Belt/2nd round pick and I turned that into another championship (5 in 7 years) Please give it up. No sane person can look at trading Trout in a deep Keeper League as a win for you. To make matters worse for you I'm doing better than you in your roto league that I rarely pay attention to and I have an inferior roster in. You can't even win in your own leagues even with you rigging them to help you. No titles are given out for the most words posted or for time spent trying to convince everyone how smart you are. The fact that you do it as frequently as you do tells me that you don't believe it yourself. I don't react to all your emails and PM'S and league posts bitching and moaning and name calling but you've become an annoying pest and by far the biggest asshole of anyone that I've interacted with in the virtual world.

Rapid escalation there

So the original deal was Kershaw and Darvish for Strasburg, Trout, Belt, and a 2nd rd pick?

I would have made the Syndergard deal. I keep believing in Verlander. I agree with Sini on Bruce though. Just not his year.

I've given him a pass on all his personal attacks and many other things (for reasons I will not share) but the more I don't respond the worse he gets.

It was an easy trade to accept. IIRC he's projected to be a #2 and when you add that to the fact he isn't a proven commodity you take the trade for one of the best power hitters and pitchers in baseball.

Would you trade away Price for Rizzo? No salaries involved. Price cannot be kept next year, while Rizzo would be a sixth round pick if kept. I need offense, and I still have Cueto, Felix, Bumgarner, and Klueber in my rotation. 12-team league.

Would have done it before I typed out this post with all of the other pitching you have.
