Your Honda will run longer than any post-Sanders Lion's runningbacks.

so now that the old man has kicked it will the lions be subject to the bill wirtz effect where now they'll start kicking ass after they hire john mcdonough?

/me can't wait to hear the detroit lions theme song @ every sporting event at detroit no less than 3-4 times per game. just like YOU CAN NEVER HEAR ENOUGH FUCKING CHELSEA DAGGER when mcdonough took the reigns of the hawks and made a blitz @ other sporting events to remind you that the blackhawks exist.

and then that one time the hawks won their first cup and they brandished the cup @ wrigley for the cubs/sox series, and man, that day they were there was evidently hawks pride day cuz 1/3 of the stadium was wearing hawks sweathers (MCDONOUGH WINS: FATALITY) and then chelsea dagger.... oh my fucking god chelsea dagger. you gotta give mcdonough credit because they branded themselves brilliantly with that song, cuz when you hear the first few notes of the hook/chorus/whatever-the-part-we-all-know-is you associate it with the blackhawks...... exacerbated when you hear it no less than 35-50 times during the course of a baseball game.

...yeah i still have nightmares where i wake up and hear chelsea dagger after that game. i'm lucky to be here typing with you lot.

It was also the day of the parade and they delayed the start of the game because of the cup coming to the game.
Always said that some Bears should have been there IN JERSEYS....it was a pretty cool scene

Of course then 2 weeks later when the buzz is still at an all time high, the Sox have the always classy "champions night" where they try to invite the Bears with a super bowl trophy, Bulls, Hawks and Sox. That was also one of those top chicago sports moments. Had to have 12,000 for that moment

Seeing them all together makes you realize how flimsy and cheap-looking the Commissioner's Trophy is. It looks less like the culmination of 162+ games and more like a really elaborate paperweight.

Have often agreed with that. Every other trophy is a Solid mass, Baseball looks like a multi pen holder.

Aesthetically, the Stanley Cup is probably the ugliest, but that's just due to all the semen stains caked on it.

Couldn't find anyone to represent the Bulls, huh?

Was Dickie Simpkins too busy?

No, he just had to remind everybody that he's the genius behind the championships.

It's only fair to have the man most responsible next to each of them.

I'm a little hurt that the BP cup was not represented.

Only Bigfan could take a thread about a deceased NFL owner, and turn it into a bash Reinsdorf thread.

Note that A.J. Burnett was the starting pitcher that evening. I remember this night vividly, because I nearly suffered a stroke while that hayseed did his best to blow a huge lead.

I felt so bad about my yelling at that hillbilly that I apologized to the White Sox fans seated around me.

You were also a man of your word and purchased 1 (one) ice cold beer for me that night.
