Politics aside, it's hard not to like Obama.

Yeah, Obama can be likeable enough. But likeability isn't really what I want from my president. I want that guy to be as serious as a heart attack. I blame Nixon for going on Laugh In. That's where it all began. Then you had Clinton playing his taxophone and playing grab ass with Arsenio. And now Obama fucking around with the guy from The Hangover while Putin takes over the world.

Love Between Two Ferns

This was a good one.

Obama comes off more as a real person than any President in recent memory

I'm just glad the board liberals haven't yet shown up to turn this into another "Obama sucks" thread.

I chuckled pretty good. I am a bit surprised though he agreed to do it.

He probably doesn't care any more. It's like the start of senior year!

Yeah I wasnt citing it as an asset to being President

Just saying he fakes sincerity better than most. Even Clinton who could relate to a point always came off as an act

It's not an act with him. Obama is the one who would rather be doing things other than talking to you.

Yeah, as I said he fakes it better

With Clinton there is always a "blowing smoke up your ass" factor thst is obvious

Obama does real, real well

And Clinton is absolutely an act. A likeable character he created

No, I think Clinton really thrives on networking and interacting. He's a pure extrovert.

Can't believe Obama lowered the office to this level.
It was funny though.
I just can't picture Lincoln doing it.

I'm surprised he did a show that isn't on the National Barack Channel. Wouldn't he have been such a coup for Starstruck Doofus Jimmy Fallon?

Every year it seems the office is belittled a little more.

Presidents going on comedy stuff, SNL, these stupid things, late night shows....it's just fucking dumb. It's the highest office in the land and you're cracking jokes with Jimmy Fallon....BEFORE HE WAS ON THE MAIN TONIGHT SHOW. Obama was on the B list show.

I've never seen or heard of the show. In order to reach certain demographics you have to do things like this. You better get used to it.

It's a balancing act. People generally like to vote for people that they can relate to and that shares their values. Being likeable is always a plus.

I don't have a specific problem with going on entertainment shows, but Obama has always rubbed me the wrong way with these things. He tries too hard to be cool. I'm so sick of watching him fill out brackets and watching him invite the '85 Bears to the White House and doing shit like this. One of the biggest critiques of him is that he is aloof and doesn't stand for anything, and he plays right into it by doing shit like this while there are serious problems to deal with. It's not that he can't do both, but it's a bad perception to give the public.
