Once again, you are now back to the "advancing other religions" thing.

Just admit that it isn't really about money being spent.

They are related. And it's both. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Spending money on religion is advancing a religion.

I find it sad that you won't even say I am right to want dog parks and fireworks to go away. You seem to support the removal of other religious displays. Will you support me in my quest to remove those religious displays?

Are you hoping I forget you just completely fabricated a religion?

I support the removal of displays if I believe they are advancing a religion, or establishing a religion over others. I don't agree with the quest you made up so you can kill time this morning.

An atheist shouldn't find this funny.

So, once again, it is not about the money.

I understand your second point there and agree with it.

The money matters if it's advancing a religion. If a situation arises where there isn't money involved, but they are simply advancing a religion (Ie only giving public land to a single religion), I still care even though money isn't involved. The money is just a part of it. The real issue is whether or not it is establishing or advancing a religion. Constitution, and stuff like that, you know.

So the money matters, but it also doesn't matter. Got it.

Neither will say they were wrong or they lost. It would be entertaining. My money would be on BR.

Am I missing the majority of posters on here admitting when they are wrong? And even that said, most of the stuff I take the time to argue on here is opinion type stuff... so there really isn't a right or wrong answer.

I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.

I've admitted every time I was wrong. I believe that was twice, but I may be wrong.

The Dude: Walter, ya know, it's Smokey, so his toe slipped over the line a little, big deal. It's just a game, man.

Walter Sobchak: Dude, this is a league game, this determines who enters the next round robin. Am I wrong? Am I wrong?

Smokey: Yeah, but I wasn't over. Gimme the marker Dude, I'm marking it 8.

Walter Sobchak: [pulls out a gun] Smokey, my friend, you are entering a world of pain.

The Dude: Walter...

Walter Sobchak: You mark that frame an 8, and you're entering a world of pain.

Smokey: I'm not...

Walter Sobchak: A world of pain.

Smokey: Dude, he's your partner...

Walter Sobchak: [shouting] Has the whole world gone crazy? Am I the only one around here who gives a shit about the rules? Mark it zero!

The Dude: They're calling the cops, put the piece away.

Walter Sobchak: Mark it zero!
[points gun in Smokey's face]

The Dude: Walter...

Walter Sobchak: [shouting] You think I'm fucking around here? Mark it zero!

Smokey: All right, it's fucking zero. Are you happy, you crazy fuck?

Walter Sobchak: ...It's a league game, Smokey.

I might be wrong (for you NAS), but I believe the courts treat them very similarly.

This whole thing got a bit off the main point as well. Was this not about somebody put a memorial in some public area? There were no government costs incurred at all right? Nor did the government install this memorial. So really in this case by not removing all of these things then the government is giving tacit approval to one religion over another? Right?

You don't see a lot of roadside memorials for Jewish people. Maybe they're better drivers.

A grieving California mom who, under pressure from an atheist group, went to the site where her son was killed to remove a memorial cross was met at the scene by a throng of supporters who planted crosses of their own.

“They said they have to take that one down,” Doug Johnson, a Riverside resident who traveled to the site with his daughter and six home-made crosses, told The Riverside Press-Enterprise. ”But they didn’t say anything about putting another one up.”

AnnMarie Devaney agreed to remove a 5-foot cross she put up on the side of a road in Lake Elsinore to honor her 19-year-old son Anthony, who was struck by a car and killed two years ago, the paper reported. The American Humanist Association in Washington, D.C., caught wind of the cross and sent her a demand letter dated March 4 calling for her to remove it. The association said that its placement on city property violates the constitutional separation of church and state.

“It’s so petty and sad that they have to complain over removing a cross,” she said. “It’s his personal preference that he was Christian. What’s wrong with having a cross up?”

Devaney was emotional when she was at the site and said she was moved by her supporters. She was joined by her family and other families that brought their own cross. A woman in attendance told the paper that she is the stepmother of the driver struck Devaney’s son as he crossed Lake Street near an exit ramp, the paper reported.

The association reportedly just got a judge to agree to block the installation of a monument outside Diamond Stadium in the same town, which is southeast of Los Angeles. It depicted a soldier kneeling before a cross-topped grave.

Important reminder that atheist groups can be just as intolerant as religious groups.

Secular humanism is a religion.

It puts for the thought that humans, not a God, are the arbiters of morality.

FF is correct in the last line of his post.
