Doesn't repeated clipper use cause bumps/reactions?

I started using Fusion-Pro Glide recently and it is the best shave I've ever had.

Dollar Shave Club is a rip-off. Cut out the middleman! These DORCO blades do a great job.

which one of their blades do you use?

I use the 4 blade one. it does a fine job,I don't have any complaints. I forgot what the deal was,but I think it was like 30 blades & two razors for 30 bucks. It might have been more blades. That was about a year ago.

EDIT: Just one razor is designed to hold any of their blades:double, triple, etc.

I tried that stuff once and it didn't work. I had gone without facial hair for a while and thought it would be easier. It was a waste of $5. I don't get the bumps as long as I do it everyday. If I get lazy and try to go a couple of day they may start popping up.

I used this stuff on the back of my shaved head when needed. Works pretty well.

I think dry shaving with a Norelco is a better way to go. However, if you are not shaving every day the beard trimmer on the electric razor is a must before attempting to shave.

I used to only use an electric, but sometimes I would go so long between shaving that it was pulling my hair. I tried this one first and now I can't ever go back. It actually takes less time than the electric did. The others I've tried, even when brand new, just don't work as well.

No straight razor guys? Or double edge safety razor users? I got into safety razor shaving about a year ago. Feels much better. I'm saving money, too, since the blades are cheaper to replace. And I'm still using the original tub of cream that I first bought. It is more time consuming if you do a couple passes (with, across, and against the grain). It took some practice at first but I'm getting smoother shaves and no razor burn.

An electric razor does not even compare to a blade. It's not even close. You seriously need to give a blade a try. An electric is like brushing your teeth without toothpaste.

I started using a double edge safety razor last fall. I got tired of being beholden to "Big Blade" and bought a Merkur 34C, badger brush, and Proraso shave cream to give that style of shaving a try. It was OK, but since it requires more patience and care to safely use that kind of a razor I was no longer able to shave in the shower. I had to shave afterward over the sink with my glasses on so I could more closely see what I'm doing and not cut myself, and frequently had to go over a portion of my face or neck two or more times. The closeness of the shave on my face wasn't much different than with a regular razor (the blades I was using were Feathers), but my neck was less irritated and red. It's also more difficult to shave the area just under my jawline than with a pivoting head disposable razor and I had to be VERY careful around my Tad's Apple.

I *really* like shaving in the shower because it softens up my beard quite a bit and makes clean up easier.

From what I had read I expected more of a difference, but overall it was more time consuming and more of a hassle without much of an improvement in the quality of the shave. I mainly tried this because I was sick of getting hosed on buying those replacement cartridges for the Gillette Fusion razors, but I had tried some disposables that were pretty good and less expensive.

HOWEVER...

I decided to give a different DE razor a try to see if I got better results. Thinking I needed a bit more length in me blade (yar...), and got the Merkur Futr adjustable. It does a MUCH better job than the non-adjustable and irritates my neck far less than the disposable. I have to be more careful and mindful of technique since more of the blade is exposed, but as Zizou said you get the hang of it and a smoother shave and less razor burn. Depending on which razor you buy the initial cost of that is a little high but the blades are inexpensive and you'll never have to fork out money for the Gillette replacement cartridges which for me, didn't last very long.

I also switched to Proraso shave soap instead of the cream. You just need a very small amount of it to make a lot of thick lather. Instead of buying a "shaving mug" I bought a wide-mouth coffee cup with a narrow base from Marshall's for $2.99 and it works just fine.

I am a convert. Don't think I'll never go back to the Gillette Fusion or disposables again.

This is where Dollar Shave Club gets their razors from.
They are great, especially at the price.
They will keep sending you specials after your first order and from time to time will send a free razor or a blade or two as a "thank you" for being a customer.
By the way, someone from E-Bay once told me that razor refills are the #1 most bootlegged item on E-Bay. Not sure if it's true but at the prices for real Shick and Gillette at Walgreens and CVS, I wouldn't doubt it.

I'm using these. I get a lot of shaves out of each one and I was sick of paying the big price for 3 or 4 blade replacements. I was thinking of a safety razor but I shave in the shower and want to get it over with ASAP.

I was adamant about shaving in the shower, too, but now that I'm using a DE safety razor and shave over the sink I don't miss it and I get a better shave with less irritation. It's more effort and takes about 10-15 minutes, but it's been worth it.

go figure i start to see other people on here open up and actually write paragraphs when it comes to their shaving stories. welcome to earth, i suppose.

i'm also surprised that i'm seemingly the only person on here who goes with the gillette proglide fusion extreme ACHTUNG whatever.... i mean the one they had that had room for batteries was a bit much (seriously who wants their giant 18-bladed razor to double as a vibrator?) but i get one of these things for $10-15 or whatever and it lasts forever and a half, i think it comes with one replacement cartridge which i can pop in there after a year or something.... and then last time i was actually looking to change cartridges and it turns out that gillette sent a brand new razor w/2nd-cartridge to me over to my parents house (as now it's a gillette fusion proglide [something]) so now i've got another year or two of shaving au gratis from them. how nice.

i can't get into mad detail about shaving, other than i started with an electric and it was what it was (inferior) and then i went to bic razors and they cut my face up to hell and back. eventually i started doing the nicer/expensiver mach3 razors or whatever and they were ok, but when i took my vacation out to long island in early07 i said "fuck it" and splurged for the proglide fusion supervibrator one and not only got the "hell yeah" shave, but had a nice prop for the occasional joke like "who the fuck starts shaving and says 'you know what this shave is lacking? vibration" i also told the ex if she wants to simulate dating an asian guy for after me she can borrow the razor and dream about the $$$ he'll make compared to me; heyoooooooooooooooo

also i searched on that dollar shave club once to find a review to see if it was full of shit, and the guy liked it..... but stated that the gillette proglide fusion [mad-libs] was the best shave on the market so i thought "yep, that's about my speed" and now in the immortal words of redman i "slide and rock on"

Come on, Matt. It can't be that bad. You need to talk to a shrink or something.
Although I agree that it's probably good to get it over quick, I think a handgun would be a much better choice than a safety razor.
Think about all the friends here who care for you that you would be leaving behind.
On second thought, forget about that.
