I heard "someone else"

It had everything to do with mac.

He's a useless POS and he likes to brag about what he has, well, most people aren't jealous of two short stays at rehab, we all know that nothing is fixed in a month. But Mac thinks it is, good for him.
Mac isn't holding any cards, they have him by the short ones. NO ONE ELSE will let him go on like he has.
The interesting thing will be if he does re-up, how will Bernsy treat him? Could be fun.

LOL

You don't think Wert and DeCastro wont be making him an offer? If not a major one? Especially if the get a new signal and want the big splash.

at least you see the battle coming if a new deal is done.

I think Mac is on his own, they aren't drooling over the prospects of Mac joining them. In fact, from what I have heard they want to build a new station, and not take retreads like Mac. I know Bernstein has NO shot of ever being there and Mac isn't far behind on that list.
Keep wishing for the 50 year old teen, Mac to get hired somewhere else. I think the fishing videos or the score are his future with NO bidding war.

Not a chance The Stain starts ripping Mac after he leaves. He might start doing more DaMaNaaas. That's the extent of his tough guy act. He may have to work with Mac again.

I tend to agree. I don't think Bernsie has the guts to take on Mac.

What the fuck, are you guys in fifth grade?

My radio host can beat up your radio host.

What the hell would Bernstein stand to actually gain by "taking on" Mac ... whatever "taking on" even means.

It means challenging him on air. Tough guy Bernstein does it to callers and weak Score employees all the time. He doesn't have the guts to do it to Mac.

Exactly. He never challenges Mac. Whenever Mac goes at Bernstein a little, challenges him, Bernstein backs off.

You're missing the point. These guys clearly have very contrasting views on radio, sports, life, etc. They talk for a living. Mac has often been willing to mix it up and get in debates. Bernstein doesn't want any part of that. It's not a macho kick your ass thing. It's just telling that Mac is willing to support and argue his contrasting opinions whereas Bernstein is not willing to do that unless he can hang up on the person in the middle of it.

What does Bernstein stand to gain by taking on David Schuster? Nothing. Does it anyway. DON'T YOU SAY MY BABY DERRICK WAS INTIMIDATED.

Berns always backs off when Matty goes after him too. Come to think of it, he backs down from Rozner too. Dans only a tough guy when the other guy isn't present. He will giggle at sound bites of Les & get tough with callers, but when someone confronts him face to face he backs down.

But DanB doesn't need to prove anything or engage anyone in any meaningful way .... he would literally gain nothing from it - not a better radio show, time slot, more money, more fame, more vacation time, not a better title (and really, what's better in life than being the "senior columnist" :eye: ). So, with literally nothing of any value whatsoever to gain, why in the hell would he bother?

CH - I'm guessing it was said tongue in cheek, but I will say that you asked the wrong question, in that what does Bernstein stand to lose by taking on David Schuster?

I'm not saying he's not taking the (let's go with) "chicken" way out, but just because it's the chicken way doesn't mean it's also not the smart, self-preserving way either. I'm not saying I like it, I'm saying I understand it ... in turn I'm not saying I wouldn't like hearing those two actually have a real debate, I'm saying I don't understand why in the holy hell DanB would bother.

LOL he read from a dictionary like some reddit butthole spouting off a list of logical fallacies. Oh for the halcyon days when Derrick Rose could do no wrong.

That's what gets on everyone's nerves here. Self-preservation is not a trait of great talk radio personalities. I'm tired of listening to him punch down.

While I agree on the premise raised by DT that danny has nothing to gain, it has nothing to do with his lack of fight.

How many times have I called him a pussy on here. When I tell you I know the guy, I mean I know the type of guy he is and could replace him tomorrow with 5 guys that replicate him.

Isn't Doug Gottlieb a reasonable facsimile? I think DG has got a little more edge since he left ESPN and I think it is by design. He realizes that plain ass vanilla smarm doesnt fly when you are off the ESPN sets.

If DB will ask Mac to step outside and settle it like men at the roast! lol

I guess he doesn't have really anything tangible to gain or lose in a debate with Mac. But opinionated people tend to like arguing. Look at us fine folks here as a shining example. But Bernstein likes to have strong opinions, but not defend them to someone of equal stature and, roughly, equal intellect. That's really all we are pointing out. It's not about kicking someone's ass physically or gaining or losing something significant. It just makes someone look insecure and weak willed when they have strong opinions that they won't defend when challenged.

Just so we're clear - I would be about as entertained (perhaps in a different way, perhaps not) as anyone if those two fellas had a "lively" debate for an extended period of time. I wish DanB would take more chances and would be less condescending (les joke goes here) with on-air reporters (especially considering that which he condemns them with are things I don't recall him ever doing decades ago either).

I just was/am at a loss as to why people think DanB would ever do so ... why there would be any reality-based expectation of it ever happening. Perhaps I gathered that angle wrong.

OK, but there jobs are basically to provide lively conversation.

bernstein cant be the bigger man anymore, because he said today he will comment in a couple of months. Now it really makes him look like a lil bitch.

*assuming this is who DB was talking about, of course I am sure he will give us something like, "Oh, I was talking about my sons hockey coach and didnt want to say anything until the season was over in a couple of months.....what did anyone think I was talking about?"

Getting into a pissing contest with co workers is pointless. Especially ones who are addicted to drugs.

Bernsie doesn't have smoldering wreckage in his past and doesn't need it.

One big point that you guys always miss is that if Mac is so powerful why the fuck is be not on morning or afternoon drive? That's where the money is. Can't the addict get up early? Too dangerous to leave work in early evening? Temptation too great?
