The Boers & Bernstein Show staple, Who You Crappin', has clearly jumped the shark. The real demise was the actual demise of Gary from Evanston. Since we lost Gary, WYC has been unlistenable. The only good craps are the ones Bernstein screens and reads. The new opening is WAY TOO LONG also.

The opening needs to be shot with the shotgun and every caller needs a shot clock.

It became awful and unlistenable years ago. Gary from Evanston is actually a shining example of it going to total shit.

gary from evanston gave me the opportunity to pay attention to my driving. awful. too much "essence" these days. it used to be funny. the black guy who calls people bastard is the only person i look forward to. a few weeks ago a guy crapped the guy who died from a snake bite, that was funny. otherwise, its old and tired.

Most are long winded books that I've lost interest in after 10 seconds, and the political craps need to go.

If you can't make your point in 2-3 sentences, go away.

The best ones are self evident. The Dianne Feinstein one from yesterday is a perfect example. It should have been short sweet and to the point. Everyone would have chuckled and moved on. Instead the guy tried to add his own little one liners in there and it took too long and was boring.

Gary from Evanston was the worst at WYC.

As mentioned already, the big problem today is callers droning on and on, often in the least humorous way possible. Gary didn't have that particular vice, but his craps were awful and frequently consisted of him simply disagreeing with someone.

This is exactly spot on. Too many callers trying to be "cute" with their little one liners because they're so clever.

Get to the point much sooner in your crap.

I listen just for pimp. Some of his craps he just makes the quote up but he's in and out in 3 sentences with some ridiculous insult at the end.

Though I feel kinda icky b/c it's a white guy exaggarating a black guy right?

Anyone catch the guy guy crapping Notorious BIG yesterday for a lyric written in the 90s? Shouldnt there be a statue (sic) of limitations?

I loved Gary. You have some problems if a guy talking on the radio for 30 seconds a week bothers you that much.

And the guy that calls people a bastard is hilarious. He nailed Chuck Swirsky with one a couple weeks back that had me dying.

It wasnt Gary so much as it was the fact that the show held him up as the standard for WYC when it never really seemed that he grasped the actual point of the segment. Disagreement with the person isnt it, you need to point out hypocrisy.

Something about him banging a Knicks player's wife but he came home early and caught them because the game was rained out. They play basketball indoors you see...

Yup!

After hearing it I imagined the caller hanging up and saying to himself in a Farva voice "got you good fucker!"

the worst part of WYC are the craps Dan reads, they go on for up to 2 minutes.... way too long. Keep them less than 30 seconds, if you cant explain your crap in 30 seconds then it isnt worth sharing

agree the new open is way too long, luckily you can skip it on podcasts

instead of dan spending 30 seconds describing how there are no partisan craps... just shotgun people immediately when they try it and remind right after.

it seemed like yesterday they were begging for people to call in for the live craps, i've noticed the last few months there are have been several times they had to tell people there were multiple lines open.

this bit would be better served as a once a month, call in only, 30 seconds maximum, must actually follow the original intent of the segment (catch hypocrites not just people who state incorrect information).

I've never agreed with a post on this site more than this one.
