So you think they can still get the 1 seed? They've got 2 games vs. the Blues left. Gotta win both of those, obviously.

A wang-whipping by the Hawks. Wait...mostly white players, what are the words for this, Bernstein?

Bernstein: Cracker-canning!!!

Beardown: Thanks.

That is marvelous. Also an example of why the Hawks are the best around right now. Most teams are lucky to have 2 dangerous players on the bench Hawks legitimately have 4

Highly unlikely. Concentrate on not finishing third.

Great game from Hossa. We really missed him.

Checking the box score, this Detroit lineup was even worse than the one in the first game. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Helm, Kindl, Bertuzzi, all out. Joakim Andersson, who is quietly good, also out. Cleary, who is categorically useless but for games against the Hawks, out. It's so bad, they even had to exhume Jordin Tootoo from whichever shallow grave they dumped him in. I don't even know what a "Teemu Pulkkinen" is. But hey, still a win, four-goal game, and Detroit probably won't make the playoffs after they bitched their way into being in a division with Ottawa and Tampa, so points and laughs all around.

I'm not sure why you mock CH and other people who are pessimistic about the Hawks chances. They have kinda looked like shit for awhile recently.

Because I think their opinion is BS. Even looking like shit for a few games this year, they are still one of the top teams in the league. It is a long season and teams are going to have ups and downs. I have yet to see a team in the league that I think is capable of beating the Hawks in a 7 game series in the playoffs. So to act as if all hope is lost because of a few losses throughout the season is just stupid and deserving of being mocked.

I think acting like the Hawks are the only talented team in the NHL is more stupid and more deserving of being mocked. Saying that there is no team in the league capable of beating them in a series is just crazy talk, especially given the nature of the NHL playoffs.

Never said they were the only talented team in the NHL.

You make it sound like I said the Hawks were going to sweep everyone on their way to a Cup. Not true.

There are other good and talented teams in the NHL and some that are capable of giving the Hawks trouble. But when things are said and done I think the Hawks are still the best team and will win the Cup again. So yep I do not think there is a team right now capable of beating the Hawks in 7 games.

I would agree with hair that this doesn't feel like their year. I dont get the feeling like its going to haplen. Not like 2010 or last year when you just knew it all year.
The Blues are gonna be hard. Colorado will be very hard. Both those match ups bother me greatly.
I'm hoping they kick it into high gear by the time the playoffs start but playing at this level won't get it done.

That's just crazy as hell. If you said you don't think anyone will beat them in a series, that's understandable and defendable. To say that nobody is even capable of beating them is just plain wrong and stupid.

I agree at their current level of play it won't happen, but I don't see a team this talented staying at this level when the playoffs start.

I have more respect for your opinion on this than CH because he was doing the same stuff last year. Every loss or bad game was a reason for despair. It just gets old.

I don't think we've seen a high gear this year. Maybe for a period or the last few minutes of a game but they aren't the same as last year.

 yeah something like that.

But it is cool, I am just glad there are others who like to watch and post about the Hawks. I enjoy giving Hair some shit over his negativity and now that I know it bothers FF it will be even more enjoyable.

I think we have, they have just not been as evident as they were last year. Last year set such a high standard they are more difficult to see.

All right. Perhaps he was being hyperbolic but I get what he's saying.

The hyperbole just made the statement sound so crazy though. And outlandish statements aren't really RFDC's thing. Even in the NBA it would be crazy to say that, and the NHL playoffs are obviously much less predictable.

From what I've heard, they say a Hawks run through the playoffs will be tougher than their 2 cup runs. Agree?

What in your opinion is the reason for that? Is it complacency? Do they miss the ever urpy Frolik? Is Bolling doggin? Hossa too old? Kane not drinky enough? I can't figure out why there's no intensity.

Tarasenko out six weeks for St. Louis. That might cause them to tumble, but it's hardly as if they lack depth.

Jets beat the Stars 7-2, not that it'll make much of a difference in the playoff race now that the Jets lost a whole string of games and excused themselves from the conversation, but it's still nice to see the annoying Stars get knocked around. My invitation to the Peverley pity party got lost in the mail. Stars blow.
