There was an OJ at Fox Valley. Now they are sold at Dairy Queens.

I don't think anyone's actually been "in" a Sbarros.

Can't remember which mall it is, but in one of the local ones there is a sbarro that has seating, etc.

Doug can confirm, or maybe Nas if he isn't too young, but I believe the Sbarro at Evergreen Plaza had it's own seating.

Other than being good storytellers, not a whole lot in common in terms of writing style. JORR's more Hemingway to CH's Sinclair Lewis (touchstones for reference not benchmarks). Hair has iterated his style of late to be more colloquial and raw (trying to avoid the word "folksy" here) and punchy--which makes it more accessible. I'm guessing CH's recent rawness is a matter of style--a choice, not lack of chops. Maybe the shift in CH's style triggered shakes' JORR comparison. Image

JORR's storytelling style gets the job done in the fewest words needed while still managing to give the reader a full-mind taste of the malort and pepperoni slices he's serving up.

I find their condiment station wanting.

M either. Of course, I don't prefer my whiskey with the flavor of "Big Red" type cinnamon either. Both are quite the rage these days.

I used to work at their 'competition', Villa Pizza in River Oaks Mall. They also have/had one in Lincolnwood and at the Aurora outlet malls. Pretty much the same menu and setup. Working weekends sucked but for the most part I really didn't mind it all that much. The Mexican steam cooks and dishwashers we had would bring in Modelo's for us to drink on the weekends.

Anyway, the pizza sucked for the most part. Not surprised to see Michael Scott's favorite pie place go belly up.

I tried Fireball whiskey at the bowling alley. It's alright, unlike Malort, which tastes similarly to what I assume shit tastes like.

That Fireball shit smells (and probably tastes) just like this:

I hate cinnamon stuff but the fireball wasn't horrible. Somebody mixed it with rumchata. It wasn't my thing but not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be.

There was a Wimpy's in Woodfield when it first opened.

Their pizza was beyond greasy and disgusting. I can't imagine what the frozen version tastes like.
