Surprised it didn't see a thread on this. Just rented this, a little over a half hour in. It's fantastic so far. Mcconaughey is fuckin great in this role. Seems to me like a well deserved Oscar win.

Saw it yesterday as well as Gravity. It was definitely the better of the two. Neither was as good as 12 years a Slave though. Next up gonna give Nebraska a try when i get a chance. That's supposed to be really good.

I tried to watch 12 Years a Slave, but I only made it 3/5 the way through.

Should I amend my previous statement?

Yes. It is nothing to crow about.

I liked the acting of both McConahoo and Leto (Garner sucks in it) but I thought the story lacked a little bit of polish... I was not surprised to see either guy win their respective awards, though I haven't seen any of the other nominees.

I saw Blue Jasmine in the theater and DBC was one of the trailers, I immediately thought, "They trying to win some Oscars up in here."

Had the same thought about the next trailer, Inside Llewellyn Davis.
