Model and fashion designer L'Wren Scott, Rolling Stones singer Miick Jagger's longtime girlfriend, was found dead this morning of an apparent suicide in her apartment in New York City. ABC News has learned that police were called to her residence at 10:05 a.m. ET and found her dead. The medical examiner will determine the cause of her death.

The NY Daily News reports that her body, discovered hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob in her apartment on 11th Avenue, was found by assistant.

Scott was fashion designer to celebrities including Michelle Obama and Nicole Kidman. She and Jagger began dating in 2001.

Jagger is currently touring with his band in Australia.

Guy in my frat, complete nerdy quiet guy, everyday, put on the backpack and biked to class all day. Came home around 5 ish. At dinner with us, then put the pack back on to go study.

One day his dad storms into the house, yells for his kid, 5 minutes later, he is packed and he and his dad are gone!
