Honestly not sure what to say about this.

School Bans Bullied 9-year-old From Carrying My Little Pony Lunchbag

A 9-year-old My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fan won't be allowed to bring his favorite lunch sack to school anymore because administrators say it's a bully magnet that leads to class disruptions.

Grayson Bruce says he's been bullied before at his North Carolina elementary school, but it's gotten worse since he started carrying a Rainbow Dash bag.

"They're taking it a little too far, with punching me, pushing me down, calling me horrible names, stuff that really shouldn't happen," he told Asheville ABC affiliate WLOS.

The school says it's "continuing to take steps" to stop the bullying. But the first step it took was to tell Grayson last Thursday that he had to leave his pony gear at home because it's "a trigger for bullying."

Grayson's mom, Noreen Bruce, disagrees.

"Saying a lunchbox is a trigger for bullying, is like saying a short skirt is a trigger for rape. It's flawed logic, it doesn't make any sense," she told WLOS.

She's campaigning for punishment for Grayson's bullies, and for her son to be allowed to bring My Little Pony stuff to school again. And she's not alone. A Facebook page started by Grayson's friends caught the attention of the brony community, and he now has nearly 16,000 fans supporting him.

I agree with the kid's mom. They need to make these little pricks read Free To Be... You And Me.

Any punishment for the bullies or just punishment for the kid that's being bullied?

The lunchbox is banned (how silly is that?) and he still gets bullied....what then? Ban the kid from coming to school because he is a "bully magnet?"

I think the kid should be able to bring it without getting abuse but he's also choosing a unique path. He's not gonna be the most popular kid....and that should be fine.

Its ridiculous to put it on the kid though

Of course it is, it shows a total unwillingness of the administration to take the tough (i.e. correct) path and confront what is actually happening. I'm sure they don't feel like dealing with the bullies parents and all of the legal stuff that might arise from that.

So just let the bullies bully and then the administration can also bully the kid as well for daring to bring a lunchbox to school.

If that's the case then take the administration responsible for this line of action and hack their heads off with a dull hatchet.

And then having the cops assault and/or harass the rape victim after the deed is done.

This will do nothing to stop the bullying, probably make it worse.

This seems like a very bad decision by the school.

Edit: The mother should get the crappie beat out of her for sending her son to school with a lunchbox like that.

My Little Pony is an awful cartoon for kids. I can sort of see the point if the school had just taken that angle.

Somewhere on the bottom of the pond near the Bolingbrook Fire Department is an old beat up lunch box and cracked thermos.

After I got pummeled, the bullies then turned their aggression on my H.R. Pufnstuff lunch box and tossed it into the water.

Treasured memories...

They'll probably call an emergency school board meeting.

They need to compose a list of names that will have to be changed in order to stop bullying at school.

At least this particular school is still letting kids bring their lunches to school. Lil Grayson should bring peanuts every single day and throw them around the room. Odds are one of these pussy bully kids is allergic and they could die after getting hit in the face with some nuts.

My son has watched My Little Pony before, hell I watched it with him. The show isnt terrible and yeah it's a "girl" show but it isnt about tea parties and shit. It just has female ponies as characters. If I was this kid's parents I would already have the lawers on the phone. Fuckin facists.

How about you let us know when you have conceived a couple kids, and then I'll consider taking your opinion seriously on this topic. Sound fair?

The school's response/decision is dumb. Gotta be bigger fish to fry than what cartoon lunchbox kids are bringing to school.

But the school is guilty of taking a mis-step in trying to solve a problem that was created outside of the school building. The real problem was addressed by Doug's first sentence. Intolerance at the 3rd-4th grade level isn't created by the school.

Don't worry, no one on this board will bully you for liking My Little Pony.

Bullying is a hard thing to deal with in school if the parent's of the bullies feel their kid has done nothing wrong.
