We said his parents must be pretty hopeless alcoholics if they can't even spring for regular paper bags. In retrospect, that was really mean, probably because it was highly likely.

Now he could just talk about his parents being green and he would be student of the week.

Somewhere between K and 1st grade girls lose interest in princess stuff. Usually the girls that have older sisters tell the others the princesses are for babies. Some conform to that, some don't.

He wore those polyester button-down shirts with dragons and flames on them. I should have made fun of him for that.

They are completely out of it by 2nd grade, at least the ones I know.

My son doesn't understand why a boy in his class still likes Thomas. Someday somebody is going to tell him hockey is stupid. It's life. It's hard to shelter them in 3rd and 4th grade.

A few thoughts that I must share because you need me...

1. What an interesting lesson we've taught the bullies in this scenario. Bully a kid, and see the change in behavior that you were trying to achieve. In other words, an endorsement of a) that the pony kid is weird and needs to conform and b) that their bullying behavior is condoned.

2. To hell with the thought that homosexual behavior is (generally) a choice. I have a second cousin who I suspect is gay. He's like 8. He wanted to be the queen of england a few years back for halloween and apparently very much enjoyed wearing the dress... to the point that he wanted to wear it when it wasn't halloween. When he was in the 1st grade (I guess that's what 6ish?) a couple of the 5th graders gave him $2 to kiss another boy. He didn't think it was weird to do so, and wanted the $2. At this age I'm not sure that the boy really understands what sex is or what or how it works, therefore not really able to "choose" what he wants to do but I'm pretty damn sure he's going to be a gay man when he grows up. This kid is getting bullied and beat on at school. It makes me sick. I pray to god that he will not allow this disgusting negative reinforcement to change who he is and create a conflicted depressed child that cannot rectify who he is because of the negative reaction from an aggressive minority.

3. Back to this situation... these administrators and teachers should be embarrassed that they're handling this situation by not going after the bullies as the ONLY way to handle it. Embarrassed. This is clear evidence in my opinion that they're not capable of doing their jobs and must be relieved of their duties as soon as humanly possible.

You'd be surprised what goes on in schools with bullying. Often the bullies don't have many friends either.

Bullies don't have friends because they are assholes...or their friends are also assholes, i.e. bullies.

Pretty much.

I don't condone the bullying.

The kid isn't going to have typical kids that aren't bullies clamoring to hang out with him either. At 9/10 they are aware of that.

Should we chastise JORR and rpb for thinking grown bronies are weird? Shouldn't they have brony friends? They are older and know better and need to accept people for what they are. It's hard to ask a 9/10 year old to do that.

It's o.k. to think they are weird, but JORR and RPB are not beating these guys up and stealing their beer money.

What? No. Hell no. Bronies sound weird as fuck. We should chastise anybody who tries to reconcile that creepy fuckin behavior as acceptable.

My experience is that they start to become interested in some other things around 5 or 6 (One Direction, Katy Perry) but they still dig princesses and are still in love with all things Disney.

Some of the progression is wanting to be like the older kids

I should have brony friends? Whst does that mean

Or was this sarcastic?

Yeah i dont get this

The logic seems to be if youre anti bullying then everything is equal and must be accepted

Im not bullying any bronies. Doesnt mean i have to like or respect them

I dont think anyone here is blaming the kids, its the administration

I am very glad that I don't use the "Whats up for the weekend?" thread here.

Even if you posted about your Brony events it would still be respected more than planning to watch the Pro Bowl

Those are the kids you should reach out to and stick up for.

It seems like there is more to this story or something.

There is. His mother needs her ass kicked. Why would you send your son to school with a fucking girl lunchbox? What did she expect to happen? In just about every school he would get teased.
