Drinky, being the tough guy that he is, decided he was going to take on Maddux Boy on twitter. What resulted was the cat fight of the century. While I can't stand Drinky, I don't think I am wrong in saying that Maddux Boy is the worst caller not named Bob in Niles.

Enjoy or hate. I don't give a shit:

That was less than interesting.

Shouldn't he be nice to Drinky? Doesn't the exec producer have the keys to keep callers off air?

I feel like Alice In Wonderland seeing how deep the rabbit hole goes.

From Maddux Boy, to some girl named Steph.

Bonus points for Maddux Boy though for making a lot of judgemental posts about Mike In Milwaukee.

Let me just say for all you who hide behind the screen, twitter or mic, Drinky will go toe to toe with you in a screaming match and you know what, I brought it right it back at him.

The funny thing is Matty and I did some screaming for 20 minutes and I swear I dont remember what the fuck we argued about except that we did shots after.

I do though remember sitting down with Goff and talking about how Leary is obstacle in his career, he knows it, Leary knows and Herb who was listening over my shoulder knew it. Didnt matter what he could do in these part time fill in moments, he needs a show. Bam!

So, outside of being a twitter tough guy, Matty will have that discussion with you today. Bernsie will give you a smile and a dead fish shake, after he is sure you dont have a gun, and then he is done. Harmless.

I'm on Drinky's side vs The Parrots. Smite them. Cast them out of the temple. Nuke the bastards.

Wow, I was all ready to jump on Drinky's side but he's being a dick for no reason

And Maddux Boy is just taking it because he cant risk losing his standing on the show as an approved caller

Just terrible all around

Maddux Boy was pretty harsh about Mike In Milwaukee. I think drinky was well deserved to call him out on it.

Mike in Milwaukee is a pathetic drunk and Maddux Boy is a pathetic sober guy.

I don't think Mike is pathetic. I think he's an older retired guy that is enjoying life. He probably drinks as much as a lot of college kids. I say go for it at that age.

I only read the twitter exchange, but why not engage him on the air?

To do it on Twitter just seems desperate to me

He called Mike a pathetic drunk, his wife an enabler.

I'd say that Maddux Boy is more pathetic than Mike.

That was the twitter equivalent of a CSFMB argument between chaspopcap and Baby McCown.

Exactly. Mike lives the working class man's version of retirement. He didn't make enough for the home in Florida and he has enough wits about him to not be stuck in a senior facility. It sounds like he has old friends and is well liked by the new people he meets. So he drinks. Would it be better if he sat there all day and watched TV?

Yes why exactly is Mike pathetic? I don't understand that. It seems to be another case of a Bernstein clone looking down on someone from their ivory tower. The guy is retired and he drinks a lot. So what? He seems to be harmless and generally affable. Maddux Boy is just another Bernstein sycophant with a superiority complex and a bad sense of humor.

His bartender whom I assume knows him well told them on the radio he is special to be sure but in no way let on he was the bar asshole. If so, I doubt he would be welcomed back everyday. His wife drives him home and as far as we know she is not beaten. He is fine.

Yeah she called him a douche when they told her Mike makes her mow the lawn. Created some awkward radio for sure.

Let me also point out that Maddux Boy made roughly 55 tweets yesterday, so, glass houses or something.

If the B&B crew ever got away from the North Shore, they'd find that there are towns full of guys like Mike that go out in the morning and hang out at the circular coffee shop counter, maybe spend some time just sitting at the barber shop, and then head to the bar sometime after lunch to play some cards for a while and head home around dinner time....and nobody thinks anything of it.

It's not Mike's drinking that makes him pathetic, it's that he allows himself to be used as a bad joke by bernstein.

They don't have to go that far. The Lamppost sat right on the border of Evanston and Chicago. You could find local government employee retirees sitting in there shooting the shit every single afternoon. Most were just nursing a beer and looking for camaraderie.

I was just coming to type this. Really, it's bizarre to me that anti-bully and super morality crusader Bern Stine would use Mike in Milwaukee and Bob in Niles as he does. It's straight up hypocrisy. And while I find Bern Stine amusing I find him less and less so as time goes on. I'm starting to worry. Worry that he might be a "bad guy".

Agreed, though I would take your point one step further. He doesn't merely allow himself to be used; rather, he seems to crave Bernstein's attention and condescension as a form of validation.
