you are one strange individual, wess. i'll help you out. "the straight story" is a true story...but yes, it was meant to be lynch's personal odyssey movie. his best film in the modern age is a flip coin between "mulholland drive" and "inland empire". i think his best film of all time is "blue velvet".

"magnolia" is p.t. anderson's followup to "boogie nights". ambitious is the best way to describe that film, besides aimee mann's outstanding soundtrack contributions. had some great moments but also was a very uneven film.

Tom Cruise's best work, imo.

I liked The Straight Story. Always was a Farnsworth guy.

Hoop Dreams.

Was horrible. Finally got up and walked out.

I don't go to the movies because of my back. Last movie I saw in the theaters was I am Legend cause everything else on Christmas was packed and I regret it immensely.

Prime and Seven pounds were I paid for.

Two worst movie I saw for free when I worked at the theater were Dude Where's my car and American Werewolf in Paris. I walked out of the second one. I had to stay for Dude Wheres my car cause I went with my friends.

I bet you are the type that actually enjoyed reading Beowulf and Paradise Lost, right?

Are you kidding?

I had both of them tattooed on my wang.

I can't believe some of the movies being listed here.

The Departed?
Hoop Dreams?
28 Days Later?
Unforgiven?

WTF is wrong with you people?

28 Days later was awful. Everyone that stayed until the end of the movie walked out saying the same thing.

I guess you didn't see it in a theater full of top critics because it has a 90% rating on Rotten Tomato. Great movie, one of the best of the genre.

Unforgiven. I was embarrassed for Clint, I was embarrassed to have convinced my now wife to go with me & I was embarrassed that I paid to watch that dull piece of shit. I was even more embarrassed to have sat through the entire 2.5 hours hoping for at least 4-5 good minutes in a row to try and salvage it despite being asked by the wife to please leave early.

And yes, I know all the arguments claiming its cinematic greatness & how it was a well acted, heavily textured film. But it bored the hell out of me.

Any given Sunday.

Not the film; I mean I think that happens on any given Sunday.

i saw both of those in the theatre too...i can barely remember either of them now.

i never thought i'd have a strong opposition to anything i see in the theatre for free...then i saw "cloverfield". what a waste of a good idea.

I was too young to appreciate Hoop Dreams. Would have preferred Blue Chips at the time
