How many 1st or 2nd round outs has he had when he's been a 3 seed or better? I know he's got his title and a few other deep runs, but that's despite him. His talent carried his ass. He can't coach.

Most of these guys are better recruiters than they are coaches.

Kansas missed an awful lot of shots right under the basket. Way too many.

You could say this about many coaches. Coach K, Boeheim, Calipari, and Roy Williams all have way too many early exits, when you consider the talent they have.

Good ol' Roy. NC is lollygagging down the court after every basket.

Are there any great coaches that don't have a bunch of early exits then? Seems hard to avoid a few in one and done playoffs.

The coaches that I listed are routinely outcoached, yet they have sparkling reputations.

He couldn't coach in the NBA.

They all have titles and great career resumes, so you can't question their coaching ability, Chus. Talent of the team should not be factored in whatsoever.

Why not? K, Self, Roy, and Boeheim were brutal. Add Thad Matta to the list as well. They call timeout before their last possession, and just give the ball to Craft, who ran into a crowd looking for a foul. OSU couldn't even draw up a play.

It was a joke for BRick

Again, the point here is the Boeheim has a title, and a pretty awesome career record. Coach K has multiple titles, and a pretty awesome career record. If that doesn't make you great, then Thibs isn't great either.

Derrick missed one free throw in that game. Anyone who blames the loss on him is a fool.

If he makes that free throw they go up 4 with 9 seconds left

The other guy was worse. Douglas-Roberts I think missed like 4-5 FTs.

He was by far their best player that night. You can't blame a guy for one missed free throw. That's absurd.

Great example, they didn't pick up the defender until he was at the top of the key. They had 14 seconds to bring the ball up and run a play, one diversion, making the PG pick the ball up and getting it into the hands of a wing player may have made the difference in that game. Self coaches the same way. They have so much talent, they never get creative, they don't get these guys to give maximum effort on every play.

Have to admire Izzo, he would allow this shit until the Big 10 season starts, then he starts coaching his ass off.

Yeah, I didnt mean to put the whole loss on him, but I knew I remembered him having a chance to seal it.

The point here was that if D Rose makes that free throw Self never gets his title

Didn't Self try to give that game away when he switched from zone to man-to-man in the first part of the second half? That move opened the game up for Rose, who had been contained by Kansas' zone defense.
