I used to grade this movie on an insanely difficult curve because of how people over loved it, Ive softened my stance since. Its a real good movie.

I still think there are better 80's high school movies

Fast Times and Cant Buy Me Love are both better

Over loved???? John Bender is my hero!

Ah. Here's my impression of life at Big Bry's house, "Bagels?" "Yeah, RPB?" "How was your day, pal?" "Great, Bagels! How's yours?" "Super! Say, how would you like to go see Wu Tang clan this weekend?" "Great, Bagels! But I got weed to smoke." "That's okay, Arps! You can smoke it at the show!"

 John Bender was correct - I've known two girls named Claire and they were both fat.

Love this flick. Can't turn it off when I see it on cable.

Also, is this really the date from the film? Or is this going to be rehashed constantly with the wrong date in a FB meme? Similar to Back to the Future.

Dear Mr. Bigfan, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole workday posting whatever stupid things we think. What we post *is* wrong. But we think you're crazy to make us write a thread telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a mult...

shakes: ...and an athlete...
panthro: ...and a basket case...
spaulding: ...a princess...
ike south: ...and a criminal...

Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, the CSFMB.

That movie was not one of Hughes' better teen flicks.

I just can't buy that anyone was afraid of Judd Nelson. That fucker would have gotten beaten regularly if he walked around like a tough guy, even at my pussy high school.

Considering how much trouble I got into in high school I was much more the criminal than the athlete. I was so bad my senior year they took away all my free periods and lunch because they didn't me anywhere in the school unsupervised. Topped that off by getting kicked out of summer school between junior and senior year. Was voted Most Likely to Get Kicked out of graduation senior year. I also set a record with 8 consecutive saturday detentions....so definitely Bender for me as opposed to anthony Michael Hall.

I agree with those who say it was not a great movie. The writing was actually bad. Bad acting. Bad attempts at comedy.

I think it's one of those things where people feel they have to say it's great even though nobody believes it.

This was on recently and I watched it again. It's alright. I suppose I was more entertained now that 20 years ago.

Did you know that "Don't You" was offered to Billy Idol and Bryan Ferry and the singer from The Fixx, before it was offered to Simple Minds, who at first turned it down?

I'm pissed because I could have bought the original script for $200 but I didn't think anyone would want it.

This confuses me. Didn't they all at first turn it down? So, did Idol, Ferry, and Fixx Guy all turn it down a second time before they went back to Simple Minds a second time and said "Hey! Take the damn money!"?

Just listened to it for the first time. Reminds me of Robert Plant's In the Mood.

I liked both of those songs. Phil Collins on the drums on In The Mood...

I'll be reclassifying this to prepaid knowledge, as I already learned my "something new" today.
