Carolla benefits from the podcast platform its perfect for him. I don't think he could ever really be funny on any type of regular TV

I thought the man show was hilarious TV as much for Corolla as Kimmel.

I hired Pedro to work on my basement, although on recommendation from a highly respected source. He's been doing great. I do think some of his crew are learning on the job but my wife is familiar with managing construction so she has them correcting as they go along.

I would never leave my wife home alone with a bunch of horny construction workers.

Sued for flooding a house with sewage:

Quote:
hen Rochelle Kirk and Scott Waters of Covina, Calif., hired contractors from "Catch a Contractor," a Spike TV reality show, they hadn't bargained on getting 200 gallons of raw sewage with the package.

That's according to their lawsuit, filed this week in Superior Court in Los Angeles County. The show, the two claim, is liable for 200 gallons of raw sewage that spilled into their home. They are suing for more than $2.87 million in compensatory damages.

When I saw the bathroom on the day of the reveal I was shocked. Nothing was done all the way. Walls painted halfway up, nail holes going through one wall into another, floors laid halfway just enough for the camera... Then they discovered the sewer leak. The plumber the show hired forgot to reconnect a sewer line, Im sure you can guess how that ended. My nieghbors begged them to come and check it out but they told them the smell was just a dead mouse in the walls. They had no extra money to hire a plumber because the first contractor took about $20,000 from them and the show made them pay for all the materials which I think they said cost another $15,000. When they finally saved up enough to get another plumber out three months had passed and everything the show did had to be torn out. Nothing was to code, and they are STILL literally reconstructing everything after a remediation company spent 3 weeks cleaning up all the bacteria and mold that the sewer leak caused.

I saw this episode. These people came off like dirtbag W-T predators. They had sewage leakage problems before this - I wouldn't be surprised to find that they were trying to pin this on somebody with deep pockets.

First project I ever did, the sweet old lady next door claimed I broke her window and then destroyed all the siding on her house. It was about 30 years old.

I took some pictures of my building before we tore it down and was lucky enough to get pictures of her broken window and broken siding BEFORE I did any work.

She gives me an estimate for a new window and a full new house of siding for $27,000

Told her I would think about it.

Almost every single project I have ever done people show up with a claim about what you did to their shit property.

The most recent was the lady who claimed we dirtied up her limestone on the top of her building when we put a new roof on.

So I asked her, specifically where?

She shows me a streak of dirt that runs down the front of her building. I told her it was there before we started. She said NO and always my favorite "I AM GOING TO CALL MY HUSBAND"
.....and here we go.

Husband comes out all huffy..."I WANNA TALK TO THE GC!" ...I answer calmy "Yup...right here"

Tells me we ruined his building and we need to fix it.

I then show him the time stamped photo of before we started , with the big streak of dirt. Thats when the "I will check with my wife" train shows up.

He walks back out and I offer for $400 , will power wash the front of his building, when we do our building. Sometimes its an OK.

---------------------------------------------------------

Had a Dumpster delivered in the street ($450) on a friday. I come back on Monday and it is filled with someones old deck. It was Monday morning, so I didnt have time to go checking everyones backyard to see who got a new deck. Few hours later on the top of my building I see across the alley, the new deck suspect. Brand new bright wood.

I go and knock on the door, the younger wife with the baby comes to the door and I calmy ask if they tossed the decking in the dumpster. She says YES, it's a city Dumpster (It never is a City Dumpster FYI). I explain to her than the Dumpster cost me $450 and I am going to be needing payment for it. She slams the door in my face and says FUCK OFF.

I ring the doorbell again, she says that she is calling the police. Which I am 100% in favor of.

15 minutes later, here comes the husband! "I wanna see the GC...Blah blah" and he starts telling me about scaring his wife.

Told him I only rang the doorbell, explained the situation and asked for the money.

His response to me "FUCK OFF ASSHOLE! Its a City Dumpster"

At that time the Po Po shows up. Asks what is going on. Hubby tells his side of the story. Cop asks him "Is this your old deck in his dumpster?"

Hubby Answers "Yes, but its a city Dumpster"...Copy says no it isnt and a fly dumping ticket is $1500 plus the new dumpster. So if this man (me!) is willing to accept your $450, I wont write you a ticket for $1500.

I then ask for $500 cash, as I need to go call for a new dumpster.

-------------

Hell, I think I have better adventures that Carolla

Living through the logistics of a complete gut/remodel of the old farmhouse here in the sticks, I can not imagine how much crap you guys go through to live and work in the big city.
