I know this seems fucked up, but it's reality. If one can't handle reading it, they probably shouldn't eat meat.

It does. That being said I am sure most of us here would have done the same. I'm a weird guy that likes gore but seeing the condition of the animals I eat bothered me more than the way they were killed.

A pig is a very intelligent animal and much more aware of its situation than a cow or a horse.

In comparison to what animals? Are they as smart as a cat?

I believe a pig is smarter than a cat or a dog. It's the only animal other than a human that can be an alcoholic.

That's interesting if it is accurate.

Pigs are supposed to be very intelligent. Honestly, I never saw it.

They sure as hell aren't smart enough to keep from being food.

I really think you're overrating Spiegs intelligence here.

According to this list, pigs are #2 behind Chimps, & dogs are more intelligent than cats.

I find it hard to believe Dogs are more intelligent than cats but I'm not the expert.

Dogs are way smarter than cats. They're also social animals.

Cats are more social than their reputation. Mine loves company. He hangs out with guests. He doesn't get the hint, however, when people don't want his company.

So are cats just sneaky? Dogs always appear to be impulsive and cats seem to have more awareness.

I think they're both impulsive. I just don't like cats, honestly.

Yeah, we had a cat like that. I think it's the exception, though.

I saw a documentary that said dogs are unique due to their DNA. It has great variance (as evidenced by all the breeds) and allowed dogs to be easily bred for human companionship. They are smart, but we also relate with their disposition because they have actually evolved to please us and understand us, due again to their easily manipulated genes.

You can herd pigs but you can't herd cats. We have a cat and I'm always amazed by some of the things it does. They are low maintenance. They aren't loyal either.

It sounds gay, but animals fucking fascinate me. We could learn a lot from them.

I can tell you that I have learned the hard way that my cat doesn't like to be laughed at.

My cat is very patient. If I left something he like on the counter or table he will no bother it as long as he hears noise or people moving around. He knows what he can't do so he will wait until you're sleep to do it. He's gotten to the point where if he is stealing something he will only steal a little bit because he thinks you won't notice. He likes to go outside and if you don't completely close the door he knows how to open it and get out.

I did the scarf trick on my cat and when he couldn't stand up we were laughing at him. He pooped on my bed. First and only time he ever did it so I thought maybe he was sick. Went to the vet. $100 later the vet says he's fine, and I told him about the scarf trick and he starts laughing at me and said "well, he's not sick he was pissed at you for making fun of him".
