Signed up for a 1 month free trial on Netflix and saw some interesting soccer-themed shows

Four-Year Plan

This chronicled the take over of Queens Park Rangers in 2007. QPR was nearly bankrupt when they for sold to a consortium of billionaires led by Formula One's Bernie Ecclestone (who has since sold his shares to Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes).

It was pretty cool seeing the inner workings of an English soccer team. The Chairman at the time, Flavio Britore had the Roman Abramovich style as he went through manager after manager and I have to say they hired some characters to run the club.

United

I always like watching movies about the history of soccer. United is a BBC movie about the Manchester United 1958 Munich air disaster.

I knew a little about the story. But it was good to learn more about it.

One Night in Turin

Another documentary is about the England's Men's National Team at the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Gary Oldman narrates.

It was the last World Cup for manager Bobby Robson and the first for midfielder Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne.

Never saw video of Gascoigne. I never realized how good he was.

Try Looking for Eric.
Less about football but entertaining. About 45 mins in there is great back and forth between Cantona and the lead actor.

I don't know if it's on Netflix, but "The Damned United" is not only the best football related film I've ever seen, it's one of the best films I've ever seen, period. I LOVE that movie!
You should also check out "This Is England" and the miniseries' "This Is England '86" and "This Is England '88". Not football films per se, but alot of World Cup
in the periphery. Again, I don't know if they're on Netflix. I have The Damned United on blu-ray, and you can get This Is England on amazon or kickass.to

Highly recommend all of the above.
And as for today, Go Swansea, Citeh, and Newcastle!!!!!!!!!

I've seen "The Damn United". That's a pretty good flick. Did a search for the This is England movies on Netflix. They aren't on there.

Keane has always been an enjoyable listen. He still hates Ferguson.

All of ESPN's 30 for 30: Soccer Stories are streaming. The best one is "Hillsborough".

is the damn united on netflix? i enjoyed that one, michael sheen is good in it.

i love it when sky sports kicks into the football's greatest series. i think most (if not all) of those are on youtube, where you can also find good documentaries about guys like george best, sir bobby charlton, etc. for my $$$ i think sir bobby charlton was one of the most badass players of his era, even able to wield the power of the sun off of his shiny chrome dome to incite temporary blindness in his opponents when needed. he walked from the munich crash, btw.

The Class of '92 is pretty good, even if you don't like Manchester United.
