First, the fact that the Blues are "slipping away" doesn't matter in the least. Being the President's Trophy winner doesn't guarantee a goddamned thing. Also, regular season records against opponents in the division is not always an indicator of how the playoffs will go. The Hawks beat up on Detroit last year and then almost lost the series against them in the playoffs. I'm seeing tweets from board members who think there is no way the Hawks will beat Colorado. How does anyone know that?

Did people go this crazy when the Bulls didn't start the season 25-0 during the third championship year?

Completely agree. Been saying this for awhile.

They are fine.

I do not see a team that I think is capable of beating them in a 7 game series.

I have said it all year...the Blackhawks are the deepest & most talented team in the NHL. Teams in sports with lots of regular season games all get hot & cold at some point during the season. The Hawks get cool & lose a couple of games & some fans go crazy...the sky is falling...we cant beat anyone! OH NO!!!
I cant remember the last time I looked forward to a game as much as I look forward to tonight's game due to the debut of Teuvo Teravainen. Should be fun.

The Blues slipping away with the #1 seed is irrelevant.

The question is, can this team turn it on for the playoffs and win the Cup again? I just don't know! I go back and forth all the time, one day I'm optimistic, the next day I'm not. There's just so many OTL's in there, which to me shows that this team is mediocre. But we know they're not mediocre! This isn't the Florida Panthers from a couple years ago, this is the defending champs who just don't give a shit on a nightly basis.

I just want the playoffs to start already, we're 10 games away. Let's see what this team is really made of. If they get by Valarmov I think they'll win a close battle against the Blues and then you probably have the Sharks or Ducks, neither team that scares me in a best of 7 vs the Hawks.

It is very difficult to repeat & the odds are against the Hawks doing so. If they do great. If they don't, I still enjoyed the hell out of watching each game & rooting for them. This team will be very good for a long time.

Thats what I'm saying. Have a little damned sanity here. Vancouver was the best team in the league and bowed out to the LA Kings in the first round. Its entirely possible the Blues do the same thing.

Special situation. The Kings dogged it for the first half of the year and kicked ass in the second, picking up Jeff Carter for next to nothing in the process. The Canucks lost a Sedin (and because of our Duncan Keith, at that). 2012 was also a banner year for uncalled restraining fouls, which played to the strengths of the Blues, Kings, Coyotes, and Predators. This year's Blues have been dominant basically from wire to wire and will face either the mediocre Wild or the streaky Stars who even on their hottest streaks can't compare to the Blues. I don't see the parallels, sorry.

I'm just saying that having the best record in the league does not guarantee performance in the playoffs. I realize the situations are different, but just because the Blackhawks don't catch the Blues in the next ten games, it won't mean they won't win the cup.

Colorado kinda scares me. The rest do not at all.

Once everybody is healthy..

Saad - Toews - Hossa
Sharp - Tevo - Kane
Versteeg - Shaw - Bickell
Smith -Krueger - Bollig

I'll take that over any team in the league

Hitch put it best after the Hawks dominated him. When they decide to flip the switch and actually care, there's not a team that can beat them
